Essential Job Duties
To assist with agricultural research under field, greenhouse, and laboratory condition. Activities include, planting, growing, measuring, and harvesting crops and weeds. Processing plant samples to dry them and weigh them. Record and organize experimental data and enter to databases.

Work Schedule:
7am to 3pm most days although depending agricultural and experimental work requirements, there might be days that will require longer schedules or different hours.

Minimum Experience/Education
  • High School diploma or equivalent
Department Required Skills

  • At least 3 months of experience conducting agricultural research under field, greenhouse, and laboratory conditions
  • Proficient with Excel
  • Ability to work both independently and in teams
  • Knowledge of the use of equipment for conducting plant measurements and analysis.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs
  • Ability to work on varyiing weather conditions (hot, humid, dry field conditions)

Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education

  • Familiarity with weed science research, safe herbicide use and collection of aerial images using drones
  • Experience growing cotton, soybeans, corn or turfgrass

Required License or Certification
  • Valid driver's license
