Department Description:

The Kate Possin Lab is part of the Memory and Aging Center (MAC) within UCSF's Department of Neurology, a leading center for research and clinical care in neurodegenerative. The lab conducts research to improve cognitive assessment, advance early detection, and improve quality in dementia care.

Job Summary:

Under direct supervision, acquires skills and knowledge of professional concepts in research data analysis. Works on small projects or segments of projects with limited scope and complexity. A few of the ongoing projects:

Care Ecosystem: manage, analyze, and visualize data for the Care Ecosystem intervention trial. Run reports to report ongoing progress.

TabCAT: assist researchers in data cleaning and analysis for various cognitive assessment data.

Proficiency in R, Python, or Excel preferred.

Collects research data and prepares it for analysis.

Assists with study design proposals and survey instruments.

Supports testing of research instruments and data sources.

Assists with report preparation and / or analysis for internal constituents.

Assists with evaluation and research of data reporting products.

Develops knowledge in areas of storage, documentation and dissemination of computerized data.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
  • Proficiency in R, Python, or Excel preferred
  • Acquiring knowledge of research function. Acquiring ability to perform research analysis duties.
  • Acquiring statistical analysis, systems programming, and database design skills to perform research analysis duties.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and see assigned parts of projects through to completion on deadline.
  • Basic consultation and communication skills.
