Job Overview:

Performs clerical and receptionist functions for the unit, in accordance with Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital policies and procedures, answers inquiries of a general nature by nursing staff, physicians, patients and families, and carries out principles of positive guest relations,

Qualifications:

Required:

High school diploma

Clerical experience

Scheduling Requirements:

Evening Shift

Rotating weekends and holidays

Full-Time

Essential Functions:

Performs the following receptionist functions for the nursing unit in accordance with Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital policies and procedures: Answering the telephone within 4 rings professionally, Answering the call bell via intercom system professionally, activating the paging system for both routine and emergency use, coordinating patient admissions, transfers and discharges with other departments, and carries out the principles of positive guest relations

Follows Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital policies and procedures related to dress code, reporting to work on time, adhering to mandatory annual training requirements, attending Unit Clerk meetings, use of appropriate ID badge, and patient confidentiality

Demonstrates good communication and customer service skills as they relate to the patient population served
