SUMMARY: The Vice President, Aircraft Maintenance is responsible for the executive leadership, strategic direction, and financial stewardship of ABX Air's aircraft maintenance and engineering organization. This role ensures the continued airworthiness, safety, reliability, and cost-effective availability of the fleet in compliance with FAA Part 121 regulations, company manuals, and contractual customer requirements. The Vice President provides executive oversight of the Director of Maintenance (DOM), who retains day-to-day regulatory accountability in accordance with FAA requirements, as well as oversight of the Director of Engineering. This role also serves as the senior technical interface with key customers.



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:




  • Establishes and leads a Aircraft Maintenance organization capable of supporting safe, reliable aircraft operations.
  • Provides executive oversight of the Director of Maintenance (DOM) in accordance with FAA Part 121 requirements.
  • Oversees all maintenance and engineering activities, including line maintenance, heavy maintenance, maintenance control, engineering, planning, quality, and materials.
  • Ensures compliance with FAA regulations, OEM requirements, and company manuals.
  • Acts as executive liaison with the FAA and other regulatory authorities.
  • Oversees internal maintenance facilities and third-party MRO providers.
  • Develops and manages maintenance operating and capital budgets.
  • Serves as the executive technical interface with key customers,



SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides executive oversight of all Aircraft Maintenance management personnel, including Directors and Managers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIREMENTS:



  • Bachelor's degree in aviation, engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of Part 121 maintenance leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of FAA regulations and airline maintenance programs.


A&P license

PREFERRED:



  • Master's degree (MBA or Engineering).
  • Cargo aircraft operations experience.
