JOB DESCRIPTION:

As Shift Manager, you will report to the Plant Manager and be responsible for managing production and/or processing operations by making sure all products and processed products have the highest quality possible. Communicate closely with the previous shift supervisor, the incoming shift supervisor, and employees on production progress and address any problems that arise. Displays leadership abilities that help empower line employees, leads, and supervisors to performance levels that contribute to the achievement of corporate, plant, and individual goals. Create, develop, and execute strategic plans to hit plant goals and objectives. Implements and follows all safety procedures as stated in MOS, safety standards, and code of ethics. This position assumes ownership of the shift work process, including connections to upstream and downstream processes. Measures improve the performance of the work process.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
* Complete the duties of a Shift Manager specified by Cambro's operating structure, including but not limited to reporting, process review, shift performance review, employee appraisal reviews, Management Operating System (MOS) procedures, disciplinary corrective action, training, timely following ups, time studies, continuous improvement processes, 5S housekeeping, assisting in budgeting, developing targets and goals, understanding and upholding plant KPI's, and daily management duties. Studies production demand and schedules employees, mold, material, and equipment requirements for completion of job assignment.
* Maintain reliable and consistent attendance, including being punctual and dependable, in order to meet the needs of the department and the organization.
* Execute each essential duty satisfactorily in order to perform the job successfully.
* Follows all safety procedures required in the work area, wears PPE as needed, attends all safety meetings, and reports safety issues regarding equipment or unsafe/hazardous conditions.
* Performs effectively as a team member, able to work well with others, open to receiving and giving feedback, and treats everyone with respect.
* Takes ownership of own work and behavior, accepts accountability for own actions, encourages solutions, and communicates status of work/projects.
* Follow all department quality standards/criteria. Raise concerns and issues to the immediate manager.
* Able to understand and demonstrate the Cambro company culture, display the company's core values (Safety, Quality, Respect, and Service).
* Understands the department's key performance indicators and contributes to achieving these goals both individually and as a team.
* Other duties as needed or required.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
* Properly utilize the appropriate tools of the MOS to gather and report results accurately.
* Supervision of the work process for his/her assigned shift in accordance with MOS.
* Interprets company policies to employees and enforces safety regulations. Teaches policies to all shift personnel. Tests, measures, and documents each employee's understanding of the company's policy.
* Guide, develop, and coach Area Supervisor personnel within their assigned shift.
* Teach the shift and department work process to each employee. Maintain the correct S.O.P.'s for the work process
* Maintain open and clear lines of communication between shifts to ensure effective transfer of information.
* Confers with other Shift Managers to coordinate activities of individual departments
* Establishes, adjusts, and documents work procedures to meet production schedules. Identify and develop action plans to remove obstacles that prevent the productive completion of the work process
* Leads and participates in team projects as directed by mandate to improve production output, equipment performance, and quality of product (wasted material, labor, and process time).
* Demonstrated leadership style must be ethical, professional, and enhance the process and employees.
* Directly supervises Area Supervisors, indirect and direct personnel. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
* Must be able to work overtime as needed, remain flexible and open to possible schedule changes in order to meet business needs.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
* Education and Experience - Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year College or University; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prefer previous injection molding experience. Also experienced in time-sensitive multitasking and decision-making as needed.
* Language Skills - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
* Mathematical skills - Ability to calculate figures and amounts, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of algebra and geometry when needed. Must have knowledge of building formulas and equations with Excel to create documents as needed for evaluation, monitoring, and trending. Must be able to create pivot tables to identify and fix plant variances. Must be able to apply scientific thinking to eliminate "non-fact" based troubleshooting, causing variables, and use fact-based problem solving to effectively accomplish process consistency, as well as drive the continuous improvement process.
* Reasoning ability - Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
* Other skills - Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Communicate in Spanish

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Language skills - Able to communicate in Spanish
* Certificates, Licenses, Registrations - Scientific Injection Molding, Paulson Practical Injection Molding

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

* Face covering (mask) in accordance with company policy.

COMPENSATION RANGE:

$45.62 - $48.08

Salary may vary based on experience.
