Travel: This position will be based out of our facility in Springfield, MA and will require travel to support other Smith & Wesson facilities during various projects. Travel is necessary to attend industry events to maintain expertise. Visiting integrators will be required to evaluate capabilities and perform status checks during projects. Travel will be more frequent when project implementation occurs. SCOPE - The Advanced Manufacturing Manager will be responsible for leading projects within Smith & Wesson to improve production efficiency, quality, cost, and safety through advanced manufacturing technologies, robotics, integration and process control. This role will lead the effort to research baseline data, create a project scope, present projects to integrators, evaluate project proposals, develop a project budget, submit budget for approval and implement project to completion. This position will need to communicate effectively and frequently with engineering, operations, IT, quality, outside integrators and other key stakeholders during any project to maintain alignment. The Advanced Manufacturing Team will use outside integrators to implement projects. This role needs to constantly evaluate the pool of integrators to ensure their knowledge will apply to upcoming implementations. If the integrator's knowledge is lacking, additional integrators will need to be found. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBLITIES
