The Team:The American Girl Retail team is integral in providing lifetime memories to American Girl fans and their families. Our experiential retail stores provide shopping destinations like no other. Our in-store experiences range depending on location from Girl and Doll Salons, Full-Service Restaurants, Personal Shopping, Ear Piercing (Girl and Doll), hosting Parties/Celebrations to name a few. Kitchen Systems & Operations Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate order guides and par levels aligned with business volume and demand.
  • Ensure inventory management system accuracy, including supplier bids, purchase orders, deliveries, waste tracking, and physical inventory counts.
  • Support restaurant management with procurement, inventory tracking, and organization of kitchen supplies.
  • Lead onboarding and training for new line cooks, ensuring adherence to company standards.
  • Foster a strong, cohesive team environment while reducing turnover through effective training and support.

Execution of Daily Operations

  • Execute daily kitchen tasks efficiently and consistently, including line checks, prep lists, food preparation, and cooking.
  • Prepare and cook menu items to recipe specifications, ensuring quality, consistency, and timely service.
  • Set up and maintain line stations according to established standards and business needs.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of all menu items and the ability to support all line positions.
  • Take initiative to complete tasks accurately, maintaining a positive attitude while working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Follow all opening and closing procedures, restocking requirements, and side work assignments.

Sanitation & Safety Standards

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment at all times.
  • Adhere to all food safety and sanitation standards, including proper storage, labeling, stock rotation (FIFO), and temperature control.
  • Ensure compliance with health codes through routine cleaning, including waste removal, surface sanitation, and proper utensil cleaning (wash, rinse, sanitize).
  • Follow workplace safety protocols, including proper knife handling, use of cut gloves, and safe equipment operation.
  • Maintain knowledge of local and state health regulations and support successful health inspections.
  • Uphold company standards for personal hygiene, safety, and sanitation practices.

Teamwork & Collaboration

  • Build and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with team members across all departments.
  • Communicate effectively to share information, solve problems, and resolve issues professionally.
  • Actively seek and respond to feedback with a growth-oriented mindset.
  • Support team development by training, mentoring, and assisting coworkers as needed.

High School degree, and an accredited or recognized school, college or institution preferred.Serve Safe certification preferred.
