Job Description

Dewberry is currently seeking a West Region Drinking Water Subject Matter Expert (SME) to help drive growth strategy, innovation, and technical excellence in support of our national water business. The West Drinking Water SME can report either to our Rancho Cordova, CA office or Denver, CO office. The candidate will work with Dewberry's regional and national leadership across the Water Market Segment to support the enterprise strategy. This includes providing technical leadership and support to project teams during the execution of projects, driving growth of the Drinking Water practice and business in the West Region, and providing technical engagement/leadership with clients and the industry during pursuit of Drinking Water opportunities.

Dewberry offers a comprehensive and very competitive package of insurance programs to regular full-time employees and their eligible dependents the first of the month following their date of hire. The insurance package includes: medical, dental, vision, and supplemental life. Additional insurances, at no cost to the employee: life (employee only), accidental death and dismemberment, business travel and accident, and short- and long-term disability are also provided. Employees pay a share of Dewberry's premium expenses (on a pre-tax basis) for medical and dental insurance plans.

Responsibilities

* Establishes and successfully executes local and regional strategies aimed at sustained long-term growth of Dewberry's drinking water practice
* Increases Dewberry's visibility in the drinking water business through active participation in national, state and local professional associations and community organizations.
* Supports, participates in, and contributes to the national Water Market Segment strategic planning and execution
* Directs business development and marketing efforts including oversight of positioning, proposal development, pricing, terms and conditions, contracts, and contract negotiations.
* Fosters a team environment while leveraging assets of the west region and the Water Market Segment to position, win, and oversee successful execution of water project work.
* Supports recruiting efforts aligned with regional and national water market growth strategies
* Leads a growing staff of engineers and technicians.
* Participates in personnel decisions and manages personnel.

* Keeps informed of new methods and developments affecting the water business and recommends new practices or changes to internal programs.



Required Skills & Required Experience

* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering; Master's Degree in Engineering is a plus.
* Colorado or California Professional Engineering license
* 15+ years' experience drinking water industry experience.
* Experience and proven knowledge of municipal drinking water market.
* Strong leadership qualities and ability to coach and mentor staff.
* Strong client management and business development skills.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* A recognized area of technical expertise is a plus.
* Successful track record of building client relationships in the water industry with a reputation for responsiveness and exceptional client service.
* Proven experience in planning, design and construction of water infrastructure.

Salary Range

The projected range for this position is $180,000-$200,000 annually. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly.
