Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced ISSO Lead to support an enterprise cybersecurity program, providing leadership and oversight in applying the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and NIST 800-series standards to protect multi-tenant cloud and hybrid enterprise environments. This role is responsible for driving security authorization activities, assessing vulnerabilities, and translating technical risks into actionable guidance for stakeholders and leadership.

Responsibilities include:

  • Apply the Risk Management Framework (RMF) to support system authorization and ongoing security compliance
  • Lead security authorization processes, including Certification & Accreditation (C&A) and Authorization to Operate (ATO) activities
  • Develop, maintain, and manage security authorization documentation in accordance with federal requirements
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and perform detailed security analysis across enterprise systems
  • Analyze security vulnerabilities and develop remediation strategies and implementation guidance
  • Support FISMA compliance efforts and ensure alignment with federal cybersecurity standards
  • Apply NIST 800-series guidance to secure multi-tenant cloud and hybrid enterprise environments
  • Evaluate hardware and software security implementations to ensure compliance with security requirements
  • Assess communication protocols, encryption techniques, and system configurations for security effectiveness
  • Translate complex technical security risks into clear, actionable insights for leadership and stakeholders
  • Provide security guidance and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ensure adherence to established cybersecurity policies, standards, and best practices
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, and security teams to support compliance and risk mitigation
  • Support audits, assessments, and continuous monitoring activities

Here's what you need (Required Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, STEM, information technology, or cybersecurity
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in information security
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a lead ISSO or similar leadership role supporting large, complex federal programs
  • One or more of the following certifications:
    • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
    • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
    • Other relevant certifications such as Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) or Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) may be considered
  • Strong experience applying the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and NIST 800-series standards
  • Experience supporting security authorization processes, including C&A and ATO
  • Strong understanding of FISMA and federal cybersecurity compliance requirements
  • Experience analyzing security vulnerabilities and developing remediation plans
  • Strong knowledge of multi-tenant cloud and hybrid enterprise security environments
  • Experience with hardware and software security implementation
  • Strong understanding of communication protocols and encryption techniques
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly

Bonus Points If You Have (Desired Qualifications):

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • ISC2 Certified in Governance, Risk and Compliance (CGRC)
  • Knowledge of FedRAMP requirements
  • Knowledge of A-123 audit requirements
  • Experience with Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) tools such as CS

Security Clearance:

  • Active Secret clearance (TS eligible)

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, STEM, information technology, or cybersecurity

Work Schedule:

  • Monday-Friday, Hybrid
