Production Planner II

Supporting Woodward's Industrial Business Segment in Fort Collins, Colorado, the Production Planner plays a pivotal role in ensuring efficient and timely manufacturing operations by developing and maintaining detailed production schedules. This position requires a proactive approach to managing inventory levels, coordinating across departments, and resolving production-related challenges to maintain seamless workflows and achieve business objectives. The Production Planner leverages data analysis and ERP software expertise to optimize resource allocation, monitor performance metrics, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Estimated annual base pay: $72,000 (minimum) - $93,000 (midpoint) - $115,000 (maximum)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production Scheduling: Develop and maintain detailed production schedules to ensure timely manufacturing and delivery of products.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels of raw materials / semi-finished / finished goods to prevent shortages or excesses.
  • Cross Department Coordination: Collaborate with departments such as manufacturing, quality assurance, and logistics to align production activities with overall business objectives.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and resolve production related issues promptly to minimize downtime and maintain efficient operations.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze production data, generate reports, and provide insights to support continuous improvement and informed decision making.

Key Skills:

  • Production Scheduling: Identify constraints to adjust production plans to meet changing demand requirements and priorities that optimize workflows and improve efficiency
  • Resource Allocation: Efficiently assign labor, materials, and machinery to optimize production processes and meet targets.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain optimal inventory levels to prevent shortages and reduce excess stock, ensuring smooth operations.
  • Supply Chain Coordination: Collaborate with procurement teams, inventory teams and internal departments to ensure timely delivery of materials and seamless production flow.
  • Problem Solving: Quickly identify production issues and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.
  • Data Analysis: Utilize data to inform planning decisions, monitor performance metrics, and drive continuous improvement in production processes.
  • ERP Software Proficiency: Expertly use Enterprise Resource Planning systems to schedule, track, and manage production activities.
  • Communication Skills: Clearly communicate production plans, changes, and requirements to team members and stakeholders to ensure alignment.
  • Time Management: Prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet production deadlines and maintain operational efficiency.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for enhancing production efficiency and implement strategies to achieve ongoing improvements.
