The Director, Installation Resources is responsible for ensuring the right installation resource, people, skills, tools, and equipment are available and deployed to the right projects at the right time. This includes both near term execution and disciplined long-range planning through Integrated Business Planning (IBP).

A core accountability of this role is to ensure the installation organization is prepared from a capacity and capability standpoint at least six months in advance of forecasted workload by validating demand signals and aligning internal and external capacity accordingly.

This role provides strategic and operational leadership for installation labor across multiple project sites, ensuring the workforce is appropriately skilled, effectively utilized, and capable of delivering safe, high quality, predictable installations.

The Director operates in a matrixed organization, collaborating closely with Installation Directors and cross functional partners to translate business demand into actionable workforce, capability, and resource strategies.
The position leads four direct reports overseeing Mechanical Installation, Electrical Installation, Pre Commissioning, and Site Inventory Management, with accountability for a broader, geographically distributed installation workforce. We offer:

The base pay range for this role is estimated to be$141,000to$206,000salary at the time of posting. Final compensation will bedetermined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

Tasks and Qualifications:

What You Will Do in This Role:

Strategic & LongRange Planning (IBP & Readiness)

  • Lead enterpriselevel demand and capacity planning through Integrated Business Planning (IBP), aligning sales pipeline, portfolio outlooks, and execution strategies with labor capacity, skills, certifications, tooling, and geographic availability
  • Ensure the installation organization is capacity and capabilityready a minimum of six months in advance of forecasted workload by validating demand and aligning internal and external resources
  • Translate forecasted demand into multiyear workforce, capability, and investment plans
  • Identify future technical skill, certification, and jurisdictional requirements early enough to enable proactive hiring, training, and development
  • Partner with Installation leadership, Sales, Solution Development, HR, Finance, and Procurement to align workforce strategy with growth, risk mitigation, and cost objectives
  • Ensure accurate, disciplined monthly forecasting processes are in place and consistently followed across the installation organization

Resource Execution & Optimization

  • Own enterprise resource planning and assignment of installation labor, tools, and equipment across multiple concurrent projects
  • Develop and continuously improve mechanisms and procedures for assigning new projects, considering workload, utilization, skill mix, and geographic constraints
  • Balance internal labor, contract labor, and subcontractors to optimize utilization while maintaining safety, quality, and compliance standards
  • Own and manage absorption, utilization, and ratereduction KPIs, providing datadriven insights to support smart, timely decisions
  • Approve workforce plans, organizational structures, and resource investments within budget constraints
  • Partner with Finance to manage operational budgets and labor cost performance

Technical Capability & Talent Development

  • Monitor and assess technical skills, certifications, and qualifications across the installation organization
  • Identify capability gaps and work with Installation leaders to drive targeted training, development, and hiring recommendations
  • Direct execution of skill development, qualification tracking, and technical standards across Mechanical, Electrical, and PreCommissioning disciplines
  • Ensure consistent installation practices, technical expectations, and execution standards across regions and projects
  • Manage the sourcing, qualification, and performance of external partners, contract labor agencies, and subcontractors in partnership with Procurement

Leadership, Culture & Continuous Improvement

  • Build and sustain a highperformance, safetyfocused, and engaged culture across a geographically distributed workforce
  • Provide strong, visible leadership and bidirectional communication with the installation workforce
  • Develop and coach leaders at multiple levels, strengthening bench strength and succession readiness
  • Drive continuous improvement of policies, processes, operating models, and resource planning tools to improve operational efficiency and predictability
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to Installation leadership on complex workforce, capability, and execution decisions

Technical Skills & Expertise

  • Strong technical understanding of mechanical installation, electrical installation, and precommissioning in largescale automated or industrial environments
  • Working knowledge of installation sequencing, constructability, labor productivity, and execution risk drivers
  • Experience managing trade skill mixes, certifications, and jurisdictional requirements across multiple sites
  • Ability to translate technical requirements into workforce plans, training strategies, and execution standards
  • Familiarity with tools and systems supporting resource planning, capacity management, forecasting, and workforce analytics

Leadership Capabilities

  • Proven ability to lead large, multidisciplinary teams across multiple locations and execution environments
  • Strong people leadership skills including coaching, performance management, and engagement
  • Ability to influence without direct authority in a matrixed organization
  • Executivelevel communication skills with clarity, transparency, and accountability
  • Sound judgment balancing safety, quality, schedule, cost, and people considerations
  • Ability to operate seamlessly between strategic longrange planning and nearterm execution

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (required)
  • 10+ years of experience in installation, construction, manufacturing, engineering, or comparable projectdriven environments
  • Demonstrated success in workforce planning, capacity management, and technical capability development
  • Experience in automotive assembly, largescale manufacturing, major construction, or plant operations preferred
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, culture, and execution excellence
