JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS Embark Peer Coaches support incoming first-year students on the autism spectrum as they transition to Penn State through the Embark Penn State summer program (June 7-12, 2026). Embark Peer Coaches represent an integral part of Embark Penn State. Peer coaches will work directly with incoming first-year students on the autism spectrum to support their transition to Penn State through individual and group interactions grounded in an autism-informed coaching-based approach. Peer coaches will partner with participating students in a thought-provoking and reflective process that supports them in making sense of their experiences, identifying goals, and developing strategies for success. They will help create a supportive, flexible, and respectful environment that recognizes individual differences in communication, learning, and social engagement. Peer coaches will collaborate with College of Education faculty and staff to support program delivery and contribute to a positive student experience. This role provides an opportunity to develop leadership, communication, and facilitation skills while gaining experience supporting students in a higher education context.
