Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities




  • Process incoming sales orders and deliver accurate Bills of Materials and technical drawing packages of high quality for manufacturing and operations
  • Design, innovate, and provide solutions for new customer requirements and build-to-order engineering.
  • Team collaboration - collaborate with product line engineers to develop best solution that meets customer expectations, regulatory compliance, and DFM.
  • Supplier Interaction - Professionally interact with suppliers and supply chain team to request supplier models, technical drawings, and new product information and specifications.
  • Manufacturing Support - Support cradle to grave of production items designed. Attend building of pilot and prototypes. Collaborate with manufacturing and manufacturing engineering to establish or improve manufacturing processes and procedures. Ensure that products are being made to plan and assist in preventing or eliminating defects.
  • Delivery - Utilize all resources available through doing or delegating them internally or to offshore teams to ensure deadlines are met and quality product is delivered.
  • Collect cross-functional internal and external voice of customer to establish product specifications, performance requirements, and data used to determine the feasibility of proposals.
  • Sales/Quote Information - Generate materials list for estimating purposes. Provide technical information to sales and marketing for training the sales force.
  • Contribute to the team goals and objectives to meet on time delivery and quality metrics of order release.
  • Perform all assigned tasks in a safe, efficient, timely, accurate and highly productive manner according to Company policy.
  • Maintain good attendance.
  • Follow Company policies and procedures.
  • Other duties may be assigned as required by the Company.

Qualifications



  • Education: Minimum of 2-year technical degree in STEM, engineering technology, or equivalent
  • Licenses/Certifications:

    • GD+T - Preferred


  • Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

    • Previous Trailer Design, and/or Dry Van Product Design experience a plus
    • 3+ years of experience in a similar field a plus
    • Intermediate to Advanced in 3D modeling using SolidWorks creating sheet metal parts, welded assemblies, installations, etc.
    • Demonstrated ability to Innovate and create.
    • High level of communication - Multilingual English/Spanish preferred
    • Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, CAD software (Solidworks), project tracking software
    • Project planning techniques
    • Experience in leading small - medium size cross functional projects (6 month+ duration)
    • Experience designing welded, bolted, riveted, and bonded fabricated assemblies or mechanical design
    • Basic Knowledge of material science for steel, aluminum, composites
