Job Description

The qualified candidate will lead the two-person team that provides critical support to the Department of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science. The role will provide administrative and clerical support to faculty in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science in accordance with university policies and procedures to ensure successful operations. This role provides supervision to the second person on the team.

Primary responsibilities include:
* Support the EECS Department chair. Manage calendar, provide data and information as requested, assist with drafting correspondence.

* Assist with all ordering for the EECS Department faculty and graduate students. Ensure that all orders are placed according to fiscal rules and regulations. Educate faculty and students on any changes to policies and procedures regarding ordering and fiscal management.

* Monitor all fiscal accounts for spending and ensure that budgetary guidelines are maintained. Assist department chair in identifying gift funding for special spending projects.

* Coordinate all departmental events including faculty meetings, departmental meetings, awards events, and Industrial Advisory Board events. At times assist the College of Engineering with coordinating of college wide events at the department level.

* Assist in departmental itineraries for all faculty recruitment candidates and special departmental guests

* Primary contact for administrative needs and requests of EECS department

* Assist the Fiscal Manager in verification of financial statements and reports

* Assist Human Resources in managing undergraduate and Graduate Student Employees using a working knowledge of the PeopleSoft Tools

* Compile and organize data for reporting purposes as requested by department chair, director of graduate studies, director of undergraduate studies, or college of engineering administration.

* Assist department with Promotion and Tenure processes and procedures.

* Assist faculty with travel arrangements and reimbursements.

* Communicate to faculty and students important changes to policies and how it effects them.

* Other duties as assigned by the EECS Department Chair

Shift

Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Regular, onsite work expectation

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of University policies and procedures, as well as PeopleSoft skills including HR and Fiscal. Microsoft Office skills, including Outlook, Word, and Excel. Working knowledge of myZou and Canvas.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $18.87 to $26.00 per hour
