Job Description

We have multiple openings for Coordinators to support lab facilities within the Center for Micro and Nano Technology (CMNT) and Materials and NDE section (MNDE). You will provide support to ongoing programmatic activities. You will support operations with facility readiness including but not limited to inventory control, inspection of safety systems, cleanliness monitoring and a full range of compliance-related duties which require independent judgment and follow-through. These activities will support class 100 cleanroom spaces, bio labs, laser labs, and chemistry labs. This position is in the Materials Engineering Division (MED) within the Engineering Directorate.

This position requires full-time on-site presence due to the nature of the work.

You will

  • Provide basic technical, and administrative support to coordinate inventory restocking and purchasing.
  • Complying with ES&H, ensuringlab spaces meet the operational requirements for cleanliness and to maintain lab spaces as orderly working environments.This includes utilizing cleaning techniques to maintain cleanliness and monitoring the cleanliness with airborne particle counters, and particle verification equipment.
  • Maintain the organization of inventory and submit purchase requests for mechanical components, chemicals, electronic components, biological supplies, and laboratory supplies and equipment.
  • Coordinate and track materials for technologists, engineers, and scientists under close supervision.
  • Coordinate, maintain and verify safety systems are in working order.
  • Prepare standard reports, including daily task reports, work control documents, work orders, work permits, and inventory checklists. Report on solvent usage.
  • Practice and understand the elements of good customer service, good communication skills, comprehension skills, and interaction with others and follow written/verbal operational and safety procedures.
  • Maintain facility support equipment and ensure the proper labeling, dilution and use of all chemicals and apply all environmental, safety and health requirements in day-to-day tasks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship.
  • Associate degree in electronics, mechanical, industrial, manufacturing, or electro-optic technology or equivalent related work experience.
  • Basic knowledge and experience with cleanroom facility procedures or similar experience in specialized environments.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of relevant technologies and processes, to maintain lab environments.
  • Experience in complying with the environmental, safety, and health, security requirements and policies and reporting to supervision any hazards.
  • Experience with multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment adhering to assigned task schedules, with the ability to meet the demands of the work schedule, including being at work and on time.
  • Proven customer service, interpersonal and communication skills necessary to effectively interact with all customers, coworkers, and facility personnel. Skills necessary to read, receive, understand, and comply with verbal and written work assignments and specific detailed written safety instructions and signage.
  • Basic knowledge of and experience with computers (i.e., Word, Outlook, Email, Excel, Power Point) for timekeeping and standard reporting.
  • Understanding and adherence to wearing personal protective equipment.

Qualifications We Desire

  • Experience working with hazardous chemicals and understanding chemical safety.
  • Understanding of hazardous waste requirements.
  • Experience working around hazards such as electrical, laser, pressure, vacuum, and gases.

Pay Range

$34.85 - $42.68 Hourly

This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.

Security Clearance
