Notes:
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Advanced knowledge of Mechanical Engineering.
Position Summary:
  • The Mechanical department provides Mechanical Engineering expertise for all phases of product development, from design through production.
  • Applies expertise in Mechanical Engineering in various aspects of the development of electronic components for aerospace applications.
Job Description:
Sr. Mechanical Engineer (Engineer III):
  • Advanced knowledge of Mechanical Engineering.
  • Proficient in 3D CAD, preferably SolidWorks.
  • Proficient in Finite Element Analysis (FEA), preferably ANSYS.
  • Ability to apply a systematic and analytical approach to problem solving.
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to drive tasks to completion.
  • Ability to explain a range of technical information.
  • Excellent communicator - can sell concepts to people at all levels in the organization, including engineers.
  • Flexible and adaptable to change.
  • Assets: Knowledge of DO-160, DO-178, DO-254, ARP.
  • Proficient computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Role & Responsibilities:
  • Electronic Packaging Design of Aerospace Hardware.
  • CAD design, 3D and 2D (sheet metal, machined parts, plastic parts, castings).
  • Drawing packages (including 2D CAD drawings).
  • BOM part selections.
  • FEA Analysis (Structural and Thermal).
  • Advanced knowledge of FEA structural analysis and thermal analysis tools.
  • Keep current with state-of-the-art techniques for electronics packaging and material technology and processes as may be required.
  • Execute engineering strategy for the Tucson site.
  • Lead process improvements related to mechanical engineering expertise.
Required Skills:
  • Proficient in 3D CAD, preferably SolidWorks
  • Proficient in Finite Element Analysis (FEA), preferably ANSYS
  • Assets: Knowledge of DO-160, DO-178, DO-254, ARP
  • Proficient computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
