As a Banquet Captain, you will oversee event setup, service, and breakdown while ensuring quality standards are met and guest expectations are exceeded. Responsibilities include: Supervise and support banquet staff during event setup, service, and breakdown Ensure banquet rooms are set according to event orders and standards Oversee food and beverage service to ensure quality and consistency Communicate with event contacts to ensure expectations are met Maintain cleanliness and organization of banquet spaces and storage areas Monitor inventory and ensure necessary supplies are available Assist with scheduling based on event needs and labor guidelines Process banquet billing and ensure accuracy Communicate effectively with managers and other departments Ensure team members follow service standards, policies, and procedures Provide leadership during events and resolve issues as they arise Support training and development of banquet staff Attend department meetings and assist with other duties as assigned What We're Looking For We're looking for a strong leader who is organized, reliable, and guest-focused. Ideal candidates will have: Prior banquet server experience required Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred Strong communication and customer service skills Ability to multi-task and stay organized in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail Ability to respond quickly and effectively to guest needs Basic knowledge of food and beverage service Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. with or without accommodation About Us At Marcus Hotels & Resorts, we believe our associates are our greatest asset.
