Role Description & Responsibilities: As a Core Modeling AI/ML Software Engineer Intern within the SOLIDWORKS R&D team, you will contribute to the evolution of next-generation CAD capabilities by integrating AI/ML into core modeling workflows: Support the development and integration of AI/ML models into core CAD modeling components and workflows Generate, curate, clean, and label high-quality datasets for AI training, including synthetic data using automation scripts Assist in building and maintaining AI training pipelines, including experimentation and performance evaluation (e.g., ablation studies, inference analysis) Develop scripts or automation tools (Python/C++) to streamline data processing and modeling workflows Collaborate closely with R&D teams to propose enhancements and contribute to innovation in core modeling functionalities Work on impactful projects aligned with team objectives, driving efficiency and intelligence in 3D design processes Duration: 6 months Qualifications: Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related field Strong programming skills in Python or C++; experience with scripting and automation Foundational knowledge of machine learning concepts (training, validation, evaluation, overfitting) and familiarity with frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow Understanding of data processing, dataset preparation, and model performance analysis Basic knowledge of 3D geometry, CAD systems, or computational geometry concepts is a plus Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and ability to work autonomously in a collaborative environment ________________________________________ Exposure to cutting-edge AI/ML applications within CAD and engineering software Collaborative and innovation-driven work environment within SOLIDWORKS R&D Opportunity to contribute to impactful, real-world projects in core modeling Strong mentorship and learning opportunities with potential career pathways #AI #CAD #MachineLearning In order to provide equal employment and advancement opportunities to all individuals, employment decisions at 3DS are based on merit, qualifications and abilities. 3DS is committed to a policy of non-discrimination and equal opportunity for all employees and qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sex (including pregnancy, childbirth or medical or common conditions related to pregnancy or childbirth), sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, familial status, national origin, ancestry, age (40 and above), disability, veteran status, military service, application for military service, genetic information, receipt of free medical care, or any other characteristic protected under applicable law. 3DS will make reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with known disabilities, in accordance with applicable law.
