Overall Purpose

The Sr. Merchant Marketing Manager is responsible for setting the vision and leading the strategy, development, and execution of co-branded Paze marketing campaigns with key merchant partners. This role is critical to driving Paze adoption and transaction growth through high-impact, performance-driven partnerships.

This individual contributor will bring a strong marketing and brand foundation, paired with a test-and-learn, performance marketing mindset-continuously optimizing creative, offers, audiences, and channel mix to maximize results. The role oversees end-to-end campaign execution, including merchant onboarding, agency management, asset development, and ensuring alignment with both Paze and partner brand standards.

The Sr. Merchant Marketing Manager must effectively collaborate with Paze merchants, bank partners, external agencies, and cross-functional teams including marketing, sales, legal, and product to deliver integrated, scalable campaigns.

Essential Functions

  • Sets the vision for merchant marketing with a focus on scalable, co-branded campaigns that drive Paze usage and transaction growth across enterprise merchants

  • Leads the strategy, development, and execution of co-branded campaigns with merchants, ensuring alignment with shared business goals and delivering measurable impact

  • Drives a performance marketing approach, leveraging a test-and-learn methodology across creative, offers, audience segmentation, and channel strategy to continuously optimize campaign performance

  • Participates in the development and management of merchant marketing toolkits and assets to support scalable, high-quality campaign execution

  • Provides marketing leadership and support for new merchant onboarding, including collaborating directly with partners on integrated marketing plans (PR, social, owned and paid channels)

  • Partners closely with and manages external agencies to develop creative, execute campaigns, and optimize performance; ensures strong strategic direction, quality, and delivery

  • Oversees complex, cross-functional marketing initiatives end-to-end, including defining processes, timelines, deliverables, and success metrics

  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders, demonstrating excellence in stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration

  • Ensures campaigns deliver a seamless and compelling customer experience while strengthening the Paze brand

  • Supports the company's commitment to protect the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education and experience typically obtained through completion of a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or related field

  • 10+ years of experience in marketing, with a strong foundation in brand and integrated marketing

  • Proven experience developing and executing co-branded or partnership marketing campaigns

  • Demonstrated expertise in performance marketing, including testing and optimizing creative, offers, audiences, and channels

  • Experience working with and managing external agencies to deliver high-quality marketing outcomes

  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience collaborating across internal teams and external partners

  • Demonstrated success in client-facing roles and working directly with partners

  • Experience working in a start-up or high-growth environment preferred

  • 3-5 years of experience creating and scaling marketing programs

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong active listening

  • Proven ability to manage large-scale, cross-functional projects from strategy through execution

  • Results-driven, self-motivated, highly organized, and able to thrive in an ambiguous environment

  • Background and drug screen.

Physical Requirements

Working conditions consist of a normal office environment. Work is primarily sedentary and requires extensive use of a computer and involves sitting for periods of approximately four hours. Work may require occasional standing, walking, kneeling and reaching. Must be able to lift 10 pounds occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently. Requires visual acuity and dexterity to view, prepare, and manipulate documents and office equipment including personal computers. Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers and travel.

The base pay scale for this position in:
New York, NY/ San Francisco, CA in USD per year is: $154,000 - $193,000.
Additionally, candidates are eligible for a discretionary incentive plan and benefits.
