POSITION SUMMARY



Supports aerial surveillance, threat detection, and emergency response operations at a high-security nuclear facility. This role involves assisting in operating and remotely piloting UAS, contributing to enhanced situational awareness and asset protection, and undergoing intensive training to achieve full operational readiness.



PAY TRANSPARENCY/COMPENSATION



The hourly rate of pay for the Remote Pilot I position is $34.39 per hour. This position will be assigned to a rotating shift schedule consisting of alternating long and short workweeks - 26 long weeks (50 hours) and 26 short weeks (37.5 hours) annually. Based on this schedule, and inclusive of eligibility for applicable premiums such as overtime, overtime premium, Sunday premium and holiday premium, the estimated annual earning is up to $92,942.12. Additionally, the selected candidates may receive a Health & Welfare fringe benefit rate of up to $4.60 per hour until becoming eligible for company sponsored benefits.



RESPONSIBILITIES

* Operates UAS platforms for perimeter surveillance, facility inspections, aerial photography/videography, and rapid response assessments under the direct supervision of a Remote Pilot II or higher. Executes missions during security response situations, routine scheduled operations, and training as directed.

* Learns and assists in ensuring UAS operation adheres to manufacturer's flight manuals, Centerra-SRS Procedures, DOE Orders, and Federal Aviation Administration Regulations (FAR's), including FAA Part 107. Assists in managing flight plans and learning to adjust flight paths based on environmental conditions.

* Assists security force operations by supporting the delivery of real-time aerial intelligence, imagery, and data during drills, incidents, and emergencies. Assists in conducting pre-flight planning, risk assessments, in-flight checks, and

post-flight checks/debriefs. Maintains detailed flight logs, mission reports, and maintenance records under guidance, adhering to DOE documentation standards.

* Assists with routine maintenance, diagnostics, and software updates on UAS platforms and ground control systems.

* Collaborates with protective force personnel and emergency managers to integrate UAS data into broader security operations.

* Ensures all UAS operations are conducted safely, securely, and in strict compliance with restricted airspace protocols and all applicable laws.

* Actively participates in training exercises and learns UAS Standard Procedures (SPs). Engages in continuous learning to stay current with emerging drone technologies and regulatory changes.

* Maintains personal flight and training records to ensure ongoing currency and proficiency.

* Assists in cleaning immediate work areas, to include the UAS hangar.

* Attends safety meetings and other meetings as directed by management.

* Performs all responsibilities for environment, safety and health as defined in SP 1-3100 and adheres to the principles and functions of Integrated Safety Management.



QUALIFICATIONS

* High school diploma or equivalent. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Aviation, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

* Must be able to obtain/maintain FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate.

* Must be able to obtain/maintain knowledge of all site and FAA requirements.

* Must be able to demonstrate competence in all aspects of UAS operations.

* Good hand-eye coordination and a demonstrated capacity for developing situational awareness.

* Must be able to work independently and in team environments.

* Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q security clearance.

* Willingness to travel and work effectively in a combination of office and various field settings, including potentially austere or high-stress environments. Fieldwork involves operating UAS platforms in diverse environments such as urban, rural, and remote areas, with exposure to various weather conditions.

* Must be able to carry (up to 50 lbs), set up, and operate all UAS equipment in various field conditions.
