Job Responsibilities:

Support in-production and in-service aerospace ECS hardware, including ducting, structural components, heaters, and acoustic systems. Your focus will be on sustaining and improving existing designs-not starting from scratch.
*Investigate and resolve manufacturing issues, supplier problems, and field failures tied to real hardware
*Lead or support root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
*Own and process engineering changes (ECOs/ECRs), including deviations, waivers, and repair dispositions
*Update and maintain 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) to reflect design changes
*Support MRB (Material Review Board) activity and help disposition nonconforming parts
*Partner closely with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to drive issues to closure
*Improve design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA)
*Support test failures and qualification issues, including re-test plans and analysis-based justifications
*Ensure all changes meet regulatory, customer, and configuration control requirements

Requirements:
*5+ years of Sustainment Design Engineer experience supporting Aerospace environment
*A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
*Experience in aerospace or regulated manufacturing environments
*Hands-on involvement with sustaining engineering, production support, or product lifecycle support
*Experience working with engineering changes (ECO/ECR), MRB, nonconformances, or CAPA processes
*Strong CAD experience using SolidWorks and/or CATIA, especially updating existing designs
*A track record of solving manufacturing, supplier, or field issues tied to hardware

Preferred:
*Experience with Environmental Control Systems (ECS) or thermal/fluid systems
*Background in aircraft ducting, structures, heaters, or environmental systems
*Familiarity with DO-160, MIL-STD-810, or similar aerospace qualification standards
*Experience with composite and metallic materials in aerospace applications
*Exposure to analysis tools (e.g., ANSYS) or fit/function/stress evaluation
*Experience working in AS9100 or highly regulated aerospace environments
