SUMMARY



The Salesforce Developer is responsible for designing, building, and delivering custom solutions on the Salesforce platform that align with business needs. This role combines strong technical development expertise with excellent communication and collaboration skills. The Developer works closely with Solution Architects, Admins, and business stakeholders to understand requirements, evaluate options, and design scalable solutions. This is not a back-room role as the Salesforce Developer actively participates in solution discussions, presents alternatives, and helps shape solutions that deliver measurable business value.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



Partner with Solution Architects, Admins, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical designs.



Participate in solution design sessions, providing input on customization vs. declarative options.



Communicate technical options, trade-offs, and recommendations in business-friendly terms.



Shape solutions to ensure they align with business goals and platform best practices.



Develop, test, and deploy custom Salesforce solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Visualforce, and APIs.



Implement integrations between Salesforce and external systems.



Write high-quality, reusable, and scalable code following Salesforce development standards.



Perform unit testing and participate in system/integration testing.



Support deployment activities across development, QA, and production environments.



Troubleshoot and resolve issues in existing Salesforce customizations.



Stay current with Salesforce releases and recommend enhancements to leverage new capabilities.



Contribute to coding standards, development guidelines, and technical documentation.



Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance to the broader team.




QUALIFICATIONS


EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE



Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).



Three (3) or more years Salesforce development experience (Apex, LWC, Visualforce, APIs, SOQL/SOSL).



Proven ability to collaborate with business stakeholders and communicate technical concepts clearly.



integrating Salesforce with external systems using REST/SOAP APIs, middleware, or ETL tools.



Background in Agile development practices and working as part of a cross-functional team.



Exposure to enterprise-scale Salesforce environments.




SKILLS



Strong understanding of Apex Programming (Triggers, classes, batch/future/queueable jobs; strong grasp of governor limits and optimization best practices).



Strong understanding of Cloud & SaaS (AWS, Azure, or GCP concepts).



Strong understanding of Salesforce security (roles, profiles, permission sets, sharing rules).



Strong understanding of Salesforce architecture and multi-org environments.



Strong understanding of JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and modern frameworks (React, Angular).



Strong understanding in a Salesforce's role in CRM, sales processes, and customer experience.



Knowledge of declarative tools (Process Builder, Flow, Validation Rules, Page Layouts; strong data modeling knowledge (objects, fields, relationships).



Knowledge of REST/SOAP API design, authentication (OAuth, SAML), JSON, XML, middleware (MuleSoft).



Knowledge of SQL/SOQL/SOSL, data migration (Data Loader, APIs), ETL best practices.



Knowledge of DevOps & CI/CD tool such as Salesforce DX, Git, Jenkins/GitHub Actions/Azure DevOps; packaging strategies (Unlocked/Managed Packages).



Ability to write robust unit tests (75% coverage minimum) and test automation frameworks.



Ability to work in Scrum/Kanban environments.



Ability to collaborate and communicate by having technical and non-technical conversations, working seamlessly with admins, architects, and stakeholders.



Skilled in troubleshooting and improving large data volumes and automation-heavy orgs.



Expertise in Lightning Web Components (LWC) and Aura Components; familiarity with Visualforce for legacy systems.
