Overview:

Egan is seeking Fire Alarm Service Technicians for opportunities around the Greater Twin Cities area. This is a union position with top-rate wages, healthcare, retirement and vacation benefits. We are looking for independent, customer-service oriented individuals who will consistently adhere to safety standards.


Responsibilities:

The Fire Alarm Inspection Lead will be responsible for the following key tasks:




  • Perform routine fire alarm inspections in compliance with local, state, and national codes and regulations (NFPA 72, local fire codes).



  • Complete visual and functional testing of fire alarm systems, including detectors, horns, strobes, and control panels.



  • Identify any deficiencies in fire alarm systems and recommend necessary repairs or upgrades.



  • Document inspection results, and prepare and submit inspection reports to clients and the office in a timely manner.



  • Service and repair specified electronic life safety systems and peripheral devices.



  • Assist with the start-up and commissioning of new equipment or system installations.



  • Provide training and guidance to customers on the proper operation of life safety equipment.



  • Communicate regularly with dispatch coordinators and other team members to complete service requests and inspections efficiently.



  • Maintain a professional image in personal and vehicle appearance while interacting with customers and team members.





Requirements:


  • High School diploma or GED required



  • Valid MN Power Limited Technician license



  • NICET Certification is preferred (We can assist you in attaining this certification)



  • Knowledge of Current NFPA 72 Code



  • Effective interpersonal and customer service skills



  • Presents a professional image both in personal and vehicle appearance



  • Valid Driver's License



  • 3 year Limited Energy JATC training or equivalent in time worked in the industry



  • Current IBEW Member or willingness to join the local IBEW





Qualifications:


  • Highly motivated and ability to multi-task



  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision



  • Attention to detail, organization, and time management skills



  • Proficiency using hand and power tools associated with the job in a safe manner



  • Good hand dexterity and strength



  • Ability to work well with others



  • Ability work overtime depending on workload





Working Conditions:


  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time



  • Ability to lift and carry 40 pounds (alone) or 50 to 85 pounds with assistance (team)



  • Ability to climb a ladder and work with heights

Pay Rate: $35.78 -$51.07 per hour (wage rate/classification as defined in the IBEW Limited Energy Minnesota Statewide Agreement).
