LOGISTICS SPECIALIST - DOMESTIC

Kress is looking for a full time Logistics Specialist - Domestic to join our team in the development of specialized industrial equipment for steel, construction, and mining industries.

The Logistics Specialist - Domestic will facilitate all inbound and outbound shipment movements within the United States. Complete accurate and timely system transactions to ensure accurate inventory and invoicing. Interact with customers and carriers. Perform follow ups to ensure everything moves as intended.

Responsibilities -
  • Ensures a safe working environment by following safety rules, common sense, and initiating safety audits where unsafe conditions are discovered
  • Reliably work all scheduled shifts to provide timeliness to operations
  • Accurately close out customer orders (ship release) in Infor XA (ERP) to ensure real-time inventory and invoice accuracy
  • Arrange all parcel, flatbed, LTL, designated, and hot shot shipments ensuring proper classing
  • Apply Pro Numbers, packing lists, shipping labels, and specialized labels to shipments
  • Create bills of lading where needed
  • Ensure shipments meet carrier requirements
  • Properly retain pick lists and bills of lading
  • Follow company policies

Qualifications -
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 2+ years previous experience in a similar role is preferred
  • Prior UPS World Ship and FedEx Ship Manager knowledge
  • Infor XA (ERP) knowledge preferred
  • Portal experience a plus
  • Knowledge of HSN codes and freight classes
  • Comfortable working at a high-volume pace with extreme attention to detail
  • Diplomatic interactions with customers, freight forwarders, and carriers
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Windows and Office Suite
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including OSHA standards, wearing appropriate PPE (safety glasses, steel-toed boots), and identifying safety hazards
