MaineHealth Gynecology Cancer Care - Scarborough is seeking a full time Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Associate to join their expanding Gynecologic Oncology Division as a Lead APP. This well-respected practice is the premiere Gynecologic Oncology practice in the state and provides state of the art surgical care and chemotherapy services.In addition to administrative duties, successful candidates will be responsible for providing primary care services, including assessing, diagnosing, prescribing, treating and educating patients.

The successful candidate will:

  • Participate in recruitment, interviews, onboarding, and training of new APPs
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and staff education
  • Assist with implementation of new workflows, policies and procedures
  • Participate in physician interviews/candidate selection
  • Assist in process to ensure credentialing and licensure is up to date
  • Promote APP employment engagement and retention, with identification of opportunities for engagement
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives department wide
  • Hold meetings as necessary to address APP colleague concerns, challenges, opportunities
  • Assist with annual performance reviews of site/location APP's and Quarterly Check-Ins with AMD
  • Meets regularly with AMD's of practices

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of accredited Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
  • Master's Degree required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of NP/PA experience is preferred.
  • Current nursing license or physician assistant license issued by the state of Maine.
  • Skill in case management, time management, problem solving, crisis intervention, multitasking and other organizational matters.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to establish/maintain effective working relationships with patients, clinical staff and colleagues.
