Hybrid position with travel required to St. Paul, MN; Madison WI and Allina Health sites in MN and WI

Job Description:

Leads the Public Affairs function for the organization, including local, state, federal and regulatory affairs, representing Allina Health with elected officials and other stakeholders, advancing the organization's policy agenda through development and coordination of policies. Collaborates across the organization to strengthen Allina Health's reputation as a trusted healthcare leader.

Principle Responsibilities

  • Represents Allina Health in state government affairs.
    • Provides leadership and strategic direction for the organization's government relations portfolio. Will serve as primary registered lobbyist and advocate for Minnesota and Wisconsin government affairs.
    • Understands and demonstrates compliance with state lobbying laws in accordance with internal policies.
  • Leads Public Affairs function to align Allina Health's stakeholder relationships and reputation in support of organizational priorities and strategies.
    • In collaboration with other team members, builds Allina Health's capacity to influence in key arenas including assisting Allina Health leaders in developing relationships with policymakers.
  • Provides leadership for strategic priorities and other issues identified under Public Affairs as well as support overall strategy.
    • Responsible for leading public affairs function, including identifying and cultivating relationships and partnerships.
  • People leader
    • Leads public affairs team of employees whose work spans across government relations, regulatory affairs and public affairs.
    • Manages contracts with vendor partners.
    • Leads organizational cross-functional committees.
    • Provides direction and feedback to the team on deliverables and performance.
    • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Public Policy, Business Administration or related field
  • 7+ years in experience in health care policy, health care regulation, public affairs, detailed knowledge of regulatory and/or legislative processes
  • 3 or more years people leader experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree

Licenses/Certifications

  • Licensed State of Minnesota lobbyist required-Register as lobbyist on behalf of the organization within 90 days

Pay Range

Pay Range: $71.47 to $98.89 per hour The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience and education. Additional incentives may be available, including discretionary monetary bonuses, goal-based bonuses, and other financial incentives.
