What you can expect

Location:

Territories varied through 9 counties in central NC

Our Hospice team at Duke HomeCare and Hospice delivers compassionate, patient-centered care to individuals and families during critical moments. In this evening shift role, you will support patients in home-based settings, helping ensure comfort, dignity, and high-quality care at the end of life.

Schedule:



  • (5) 8 hour evening shifts (1 p.m.-9 p.m.), Monday to Friday

How you will make an impact

  • Provide professional hospice nursing care in home or alternate settings in accordance with North Carolina nursing regulations and agency standards.
  • Assess patient conditions, manage symptoms, and communicate significant changes to physicians and interdisciplinary care teams.
  • Educate patients and families on disease progression, medications, and end-of-life care to promote comfort and understanding.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care plans, support discharge planning, and ensure quality outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and quality standards.


What you will need

  • Associate Degree or Diploma in Nursing required; BSN encouraged after two years of service.
  • Current RN license in North Carolina or compact state.
  • CPR certification (American Heart Association).
  • Hospice experience required for this evening shift position.
  • Valid driver's license and current automobile insurance coverage.
  • Two years of med-surgical, critical care, home health, or hospice experience preferred.
  • Strong assessment, communication, and documentation skills with the ability to work independently in home settings.
