The Role

Save the Children is seeking a Warehouse Administrator to execute onsite warehouse operations for our Gifts-in-Kind ("GIK") facility in Lexington, KY. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting the day-to-day operational needs of the facility, including proper maintenance and upkeep of facility and equipment, facilitating inventory management processes, and ensuring the operations of the warehouse are conducted in a safe manner.

What You'll Be Doing (Essential Duties)

Warehouse Operations (85%)



  • Receive and send shipments, including loading and unloading trucks.
  • Operate electronic and/or motorized equipment including, pallet jacks, and pallet wrapping machines.
  • Conduct accurate and prompt inventory of all shipments.
  • Prepare for pick-ups and distributions.
  • Coordinate with GIK Staff to ensure all established Gift in Kind (GIK) goals, processes and timelines are met.
  • Perform other related duties as required.


Facility Safety and Maintenance (15%)



  • Wear correct safety equipment and follow safety protocols.
  • Ensure all warehouse activities are conducted in a safe manner, compliant with all required safety and material handling policies and protocols.
  • Be aware of warehouse protocols and offer continuous improvement ideas to achieve an efficient warehouse environment.
  • Stay current with state and federal safety regulations and recommend changes as needed.
  • Ensure all safety and security incidents are reported in a timely fashion and in accordance with established policies.


Required qualifications for the role



  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent, plus at least 1 year of relevant experience or education.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with individuals and teams at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time with extensive walking; the ability to use both hands and wrists for repetitive motions; the ability to frequently be in low level positions, such as squatting, kneeling, or crouching; the ability to lift and carry items up to 60 lbs throughout the day.
  • Exposure to varying temperatures depending on the time of year. Cold Weather clothing will be provided during the winter.
  • Professional proficiency in MS Office suite
  • Professional proficiency in spoken and written English


      Preferred qualifications for the role



      • First Responder, CPR and First Aid Certification
      • Experience with industrial equipment


      Compensation

      Save the Children is offering the following salary ranges for this position, dependent on candidate location:



      • Geo 1 - NY Metro, DC, and other locations with labor costs significantly above national average: Target hourly pay for this position is $24.31 - $27.18
      • Geo 2 - Locations around the US National Labor Cost Average: Target hourly pay for this position is $21.66 - $24.21
      • Geo 3 - Locations significantly below the US National Labor Cost Average: Target hourly pay for this position is $19.41 - $21.69


        The salary ranges listed above are for US based candidates. For candidates located outside of the US, salary ranges will be based on the salary scales of the local employer of record. Actual base salary may vary based on, but not limited to, relevant experience, base salary of internal peers, business sector, and geographic location (more information on job structure is available here).
