What you'll do:

This role is a first line of defense risk professional responsible for support and/or execution of various risk programs and Business Unit (BU) risk activities in adherence with the Company's Risk Appetite and Corporate Strategy. This role is responsible for engaging with the Business Units in management of risks and controls across all risk types, monitoring execution of risk policies, procedures, and/or program requirements, to effectively manage risks, and serving as an effective communication channel between the Risk Management Department and business units.
  • Support in the development, implementation, and execution of the control testing and reporting programs for both operations and technology
  • Assist in the planning, execution, and reporting of testing results including validation activities
  • Leads the team in performing testers who preform walk-throughs and provides consultation on existing and new controls.
  • Assisting in the development of a robust testing plan to monitor for control health
  • Identifying and evaluating emerging risks and present findings to Product/function leadership.
  • Participating in the development and enhancement of the Control Testing Methodology and Standards for business unit testing, and reporting.
  • Providing briefings as necessary and insight to the Control environment health, and on a quarterly basis to 1st & 2nd line business partners.

What you'll need:

  • 7+ years of related experience or similar field.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field required.
  • Previous leadership experience required.
  • Advanced knowledge of general banking operations, including deposit operations, loan administration, treasury management and/or other commercial banking products and services.
  • Advanced knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.
  • Advanced experience in Compliance, Operations Management, Audit, Risk Management, or related field. Advanced analytical skills to determine key areas of focus, summary of meetings and key decisions and actions.
  • Advanced knowledge of and experience in documenting process maps in process mapping software. Advanced experience in control testing and other risk management activities.
  • Expert speaking and writing communication skills.
