| Job Description |
The Assistant Director for Technology & Trades leads the delivery of instructional programming at HCC's various locations while supporting department leadership in the creation, delivery and support of educational programming, dual enrollment and contract training, including the development of new initiatives, and the development of new programs and apprenticeships as well as strengthening of existing programs. The Assistant Director will interface with local and national businesses and government and provide support for small business development and special events.
The Assistant Director manages and coordinates educational programs including program and course scheduling, evaluation, instructor observations and staffing, student advising, documentation and quality control, database maintenance, reporting, and compliance with local, state, and federal requirements. The role also supports marketing initiatives, budget and grant administration, registration oversight, and collaboration with HR, marketing, and partner organizations. Additional duties include assisting students and instructors, maintaining records, and providing general troubleshooting and operational support.
This is a full-time, exempt staff position reporting to the Director for Workforce Development.
Employees of Harford Community College, including instructors for online and virtual courses, must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia; non-residents are expected to relocate to meet this requirement.

- Minimum of one year of supervisory experience

- Knowledge of or ability to develop and deliver instructional programming
- Ability to provide services to students and assist them in achieving success

| Preferred Qualifications |
- Experience in Adult Education programs and Career and Technical Education
- Knowledge of and demonstrated experience teaching instructional programming
- Experience with Apprenticeships

| General Weekly Work Schedule |
General work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; additional hours may be required at the request of the supervisor and based on the needs of the College. |
