First American is seeking a Commercial Associate Underwriter to join our team-playing a key role in supporting underwriting decisions and delivering quality outcomes for our customers. What You'll Do: Provide underwriting support and expertise to company personnel, agents, and customers related to the issuance of commercial real estate title insurance commitments and policies Apply underwriting standards and guidelines within delegated authority to evaluate and support the issuance of title insurance Partner with internal teams to provide guidance in the performance of commercial real estate settlement services Assist in the development and communication of underwriting standards in alignment with established company processes Support additional responsibilities and initiatives as needed What You'll Bring: High School Diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred 1-4 years of title underwriting experience, with exposure to commercial transactions preferred Familiarity with real estate law, including applicable federal and state regulations Working knowledge of title and settlement processes, with an understanding of underwriting fundamentals Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong attention to detail and ability to assess risk within established guidelines General understanding of commercial real estate title and settlement practices Ability to collaborate effectively and act decisively in a fast-paced environment Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and follow through Sound negotiation skills and a solutions-oriented mindset Pay Range: $35.54 - $47.37 Hourly This hiring range is a reasonable estimate of the base pay range for this position at the time of posting. Pay is based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements and geographic location.
