First American is seeking a Commercial Associate Underwriter to join our team-playing a key role in supporting underwriting decisions and delivering quality outcomes for our customers.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide underwriting support and expertise to company personnel, agents, and customers related to the issuance of commercial real estate title insurance commitments and policies
  • Apply underwriting standards and guidelines within delegated authority to evaluate and support the issuance of title insurance
  • Partner with internal teams to provide guidance in the performance of commercial real estate settlement services
  • Assist in the development and communication of underwriting standards in alignment with established company processes
  • Support additional responsibilities and initiatives as needed

What You'll Bring:

  • High School Diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred
  • 1-4 years of title underwriting experience, with exposure to commercial transactions preferred
  • Familiarity with real estate law, including applicable federal and state regulations
  • Working knowledge of title and settlement processes, with an understanding of underwriting fundamentals

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to assess risk within established guidelines
  • General understanding of commercial real estate title and settlement practices
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and act decisively in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and follow through
  • Sound negotiation skills and a solutions-oriented mindset
Pay Range: $35.54 - $47.37 Hourly This hiring range is a reasonable estimate of the base pay range for this position at the time of posting. Pay is based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements and geographic location.
