Pay Range: $26.00-$31.00

Schedule: 4:30pm-1am or 7:30am-4pm

Summary:

This position is responsible for providing light repair and maintenance (unskilled to semi-skilled) of the building and equipment across all departments, as well as for maintenance and repairs requested by staff and residents.

Detailed responsibilities:

* Maintenance I
  • Completes resident work orders for repairs and/or painting in accommodations, common areas, and other campus and facility physical structures as assigned.
  • Performs preventative maintenance procedures on mechanical equipment; inspects belts, checks fluid levels, replaces filters, greases bearings, repairs or replaces broken parts; cleans and inspects boiler, etc.
  • Assists in the refurbishment of rooms.by performing varnishing and painting of various surfaces.
  • Skilled in using essential hand tools, hand-held power tools, ladders, essential plumbing tools, drain cleaning machines, minor electrical, minor carpentry, and painting.
  • Assists skilled maintenance workers in performing repairs and other duties as assigned.
  • Maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures.
  • Paint walls and trim work.
  • Assists in the refurbishment of rooms.
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Competencies and skills:
Essential:
* Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages
* Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
* Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
* Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
* Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
* Ability to write reports business correspondence, and procedure manuals

Education with Equivalent Qualifications:

Essential:
* High School diploma or GED

Experience with Equivalent Qualifications:
NonEssential:

*6 Months building maintenance experience
