Tufts University School of Engineering and the Gordon Institute

Home to seven graduate and professional schools across three campuses, Tufts University prides itself on its culture of cross-school partnerships. Located on Tufts' Medford/Somerville campus, only six miles from historic downtown Boston, SOE faculty members have extensive opportunities for academic and industrial collaboration, as well as participation in the rich intellectual life of the region.

Tufts' School of Engineering (SOE) distinguishes itself by the interdisciplinary focus and integrative nature of its engineering education and research programs, within the intellectually rich environment of both a "Research I" university and a top-ranked undergraduate institution. The past ten years have been a period of extraordinary growth for SOE at Tufts, with recruitment of over half of its current tenured and tenure-track faculty members and a more than three-fold increase in research productivity. Tufts offers the best of a liberal arts college atmosphere, coupled with the intellectual and technological resources of a major research university.

Part of the Tufts University School of Engineering, the Gordon Institute (TGI) fosters and inspires individuals to become leaders capable of addressing the challenges of the 21st century.

TGI offers minors in entrepreneurship and engineering management for Tufts undergraduates, a master of science in engineering management for technology professionals, a master of science in innovation and management for recent STEM graduates, and professional education programs tailored to the needs of practicing engineers.

All TGI programs share a visionary approach to fostering creativity and leadership development. Through a curriculum directly applicable to students' professional interests and mentorship by faculty who are leaders of industry and entrepreneurship, TGI students gain the knowledge, skills, confidence, and experience to harness the power of cross-disciplinary teams and advance their careers while growing into leaders for the innovation economy.
