Hours: Part Time - 16 hours p/week / including every other weekend/holiday rotation.

Summary

Provides a hospitable and presentable environment within the MFB hotel for guests and families of patients. Performs all needed duties including guest reservations, check in, assistance with luggage, tours, room cleaning, continental breakfast, check out, billing, information services, purchasing, inventory management, coordination of volunteers, etc. Scheduled work may include weekends, holidays, and/or a variety of shifts.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Maintains hotel reservation system. Makes individual reservations for guests.
  • Checks in guests upon arrival. Completes registration and billing formalities. Provides keys and explains access to rooms, the facility and to the campus. Shows guests to rooms and assists with luggage. Orients guests to facility and community. Reviews hotel regulations.
  • Provides information and services to guests as requested.
  • Depending upon shift, prepares the 7 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. continental breakfast including making coffee, setting up the food line, putting cold items on ice, and keeping items stocked and filled during breakfast hours. Puts food items away and cleans the breakfast line and lounge when breakfast ends.
  • For guests who are staying, completes basic room cleaning. Replace towels, clean sink and toilet, empty trash, and restock coffee, soaps and shampoos as necessary in each occupied room.
  • Completes guest checkout on departure date. Completes billing process. Assists guests with loading of luggage.
  • For guests who are checking out, completes final room cleaning. Cleans and restocks guest rooms in preparation for the next guests. Changes bed linen and remakes beds. Empties trash and vacuums room. Restocks coffee, soaps and shampoos. Cleans bathroom floors, sinks, showers and toilets. Replaces towels. Checks room for needed repairs. Replaces bedspreads and blankets as necessary. Returns chairs/tables and desks to the standard room setup. Ensures that phones/radios are working and that alarms are off. Clears voice mail.
  • Monitors supply and food inventories, and places orders or make outside purchases as necessary to maintain levels. Maintains food freshness and quality.
  • Cleans and maintains lobby, hallways, lounges, entryway and front desk area.
  • Maintains front desk records.
  • Maintains professional appearance, language and behavior. Owns and immediately resolves guest problems.
  • Coordinates and oversees any volunteers or volunteer functions that may relate to hotel operations.

Customer Service Responsibilities

Demonstrate excellent customer service and standards of behaviors as well as encourages, coaches, and monitors the same in team members. This individual should consistently promote teamwork and direct communication with co-workers and deal discretely and sensitively with confidential information.

Responsibilities in Quality Improvement

Contribute by identifying problems and seeking solutions. Promote patient/family satisfaction where possible; participates in departmental efforts to monitor and report customer service.
