| Position Summary |
The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Department of Family Medicine is seeking a Program Coordinator to join the ShepsGME Technical Assistance Center (
TAC). This role provides administrative coordination, information management, and communication support for technical assistance projects that strengthen medical and dental training programs in underserved communities.
Position Summary
The Program Coordinator independently coordinates day-to-day operations of multiple programmatic activities, supports manager level staff and TA Center leadership, and serves as a primary administrative and communication point of contact for project partners. This position collaborates with TA Center staff to ensure aligned, efficient, and compliant workflows. Work requires strong organizational skills, analytical abilities, and the capacity to interpret and apply program procedures and policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate program operations, schedules, documentation, and logistics across several TAC initiatives.
- Interpret and apply program policies and procedures to resolve recurring operational issues.
- Provide responsive customer service to TA recipients, academic partners, and stakeholders, identifying options and making recommendations within established guidelines.
- Compile, organize, and analyze program data.
- Prepare reports, summaries, and materials for decision making and required deliverables.
- Draft email communications, prepare presentations, and support newsletters, website updates, and outreach materials.
- Coordinate meetings, webinars, and events.
- Maintain accurate records of actions, decisions, and follow-up needs.
- Train or orient student or temporary staff in program procedures as needed.

| Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. |
| Management Preferences |
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem solving skills with familiarity in project management tools or data systems.
- Ability to independently coordinate program activities, interpret policies, and manage multiple deadlines.
- Experience managing data, preparing reports, or supporting academic/health programs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience in graduate medical education, health workforce development, or grant-funded programs.
