Summary:

Works in conjunction with various departments, such as Production support and Manufacturing Engineering, to ensure that the facility and related equipment is in good working order.
All employees are responsible for the Quality of their work to ensure BEI meets, or exceeds Customer Satisfaction.
* Perform work inside and outside all facility areas, including manufacturing floor, loading dock, above ceiling, on the roof and on the building's grounds

1. Hazardous, Recyclable, and Universal Waste Management Duties - Collect, label, inventory, ship
a. Expired, Out-of-Spec, Used Chemicals
i. Coatings and solvents
ii. Flux
iii. Adhesives, sealants
iv. Antifreeze
v. Oil and oil filters
b. Scrap metal
c. Solder paste, wire, dross
d. Articles-contaminated with solder
e. Solvent-contaminated debris
f. Pallets
g. Cardboard
h. Flashing
i. Scrap electronics
j. ITAR scrap (paper, electronics)
k. Batteries
l. Fluorescent lamps
2. Inspections/Reporting
a. Stormwater Pollution Inspections - Monthly
b. Hazardous Waste Storage Area Inspections - Weekly
c. Document Wave Run Hours - Annual
d. Maintain Hazardous Waste Manifests and container labels - Quarterly
e. Waste Log - Daily
3. ISO 14001 Certification Audit
a. Prepare for and participate in (as needed) annual audit
4. Training
a. Hazardous Waste and Waste Coordinator Training Checklists. See 26-02894, WC checklist
b. MN DOT Training
5. Other duties as needed.


B.
Safety-Related Duties (25% - 50%)
1. Inspections/Reporting
a. EHS Inspections (26-0399) - Periodic
b. Inspect Emergency Equipment, including AEDs, eyewashes, showers, spill kits, weather radios. - Weekly
c. Coworker Safety knowledge audits (fire emergency) - periodic
d. Lockout-Tagout Audits/Evaluations
e. PPE evaluations and compliance audits

2. Participation on Safety/VR Team.

This position is classified as safety-sensitive because impairment while performing job duties could pose a significant risk of harm. Where permitted by applicable law or required by federal regulation, Benchmark will conduct a pre-employment drug screen, which may include testing for THC. In jurisdictions that restrict pre-employment cannabis testing or prohibit action based solely on non-psychoactive cannabis metabolites, Benchmark will comply with local requirements. Benchmark maintains a drug- and alcohol-free workplace and may conduct reasonable-suspicion and post-incident testing in accordance with applicable law.

Education: 2 Year degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience as approved by executive management; 5+ years of experience

Compensation Range: $24.50 to $32.68 USD. Many factors are considered in compensation decisions, including but not limited to skills, certifications, licensures, experience, training, incumbent data, and other business needs.
