Microsoft M365 and Email Products - Product Manager (AVP) A Microsoft M365 and Email Product Manager is responsible for defining the product strategy and partnering with the Product Owner for delivery of the Microsoft 365 (M365) platform for our client, including the email product. They collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, marketing, sales, service, and vendor management to define product features, prioritize development tasks, drive communication strategy, and align with business goals. Key Responsibilities Define Product Vision and Strategy: Define the long-term vision and strategy for suite of apps included in the Microsoft 365 (M365) platform used by clients, including the email product. Consider user needs, scalable delivery, and cost/benefit. Secure funding needed to fulfill the strategy. Advocate for Advisor Needs: Product Managers actively listen to advisor feedback and conduct market and product research to identify pain points and unmet needs. Interact directly with client to gather insights on the user experience. Represent the voice of the customer and advocating for a user-centric approach in all product decisions. Develop Product Roadmap and Backlog: Create and maintain a product roadmap that aligns with business goals and customer requirements. Own product backlog. Define and Prioritize Product Features: Identify and prioritize features based on user feedback, product research, and business objectives. Includes being able to analyze the potential benefits and drawbacks of different approaches, making informed decisions about which solutions to prioritize. Align Architecture & Platform Requirements: Partner with architecture and security teams to translate target-state designs into actionable roadmaps and delivery plans. Ensure product decisions align with architectural constraints, licensing models, and long-term operational support Risk Management: Identify and resolve issues that hinder the execution of projects and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality features. Manage Agile Delivery & Tooling: Serve as the primary owner of product delivery tooling (e.g., JIRA), ensuring backlog hygiene, consistent story quality, dependency tracking, and clear acceptance criteria. Ensure delivery artifacts support both near-term execution and long-term platform sustainability. Manage Financial & Licensing Impacts: Own ongoing evaluation of M365 licensing models (e.g., F1, E5, Copilot), including cost tradeoffs, advisor value, and implications for fee recovery and monetization strategies Lead Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Drive collaboration across engineering, design, marketing, sales, service, risk management and vendor teams to ensure alignment and effective execution of the product strategy. Manage Change Across Enterprise and Customers: Work across all impacted areas to ensure client and vendors are able to deliver new products to our advisors with maximum benefit and no disruption to their experience. Make Data-Driven Decisions: Utilize data and analytics to inform product decisions, measure success, and track performance. Manage Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, partners, and executive leadership. Skills and Experience: *Strong understanding of M365 platform and related apps with emphasis on email product. *Experience in defining product vision and strategy. *Strong financial acumen with experience developing business cases, securing funding from internal stakeholders. *Demonstrated experience owning product backlogs in JIRA, including epics, features, user stories, and acceptance criteria *Proven ability to balance short-term delivery needs with long-term platform strategy. *Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. *Strong process design and process documentation skills. *Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. *Experience with organizational change management. *Experience developing customer and employee facing communications and digital help documentation. *Excellent communication and presentation skills to levels of leadership. *Experience with data analysis and reporting. *Experience with vendor management and contracts. *Passion for delivering exceptional user experiences. Advanced degree preferred. *7+ years of experience in product management within a financial service or related fintech firm. Core Competencies: *Strong team player with the ability to work effectively in a group and independently. *Must be able to take initiative and "make things happen" with timelines and deadlines, self-starter, and independent contributor. *Good understanding of use cases development, articulation of user needs, user story creation and backlog management. *Skilled with process design and documentation. *Ability to prepare and deliver executive-level presentations. *Experience in agile methodology preferred. *Strong oral and written communication skills. *Strong attention to detail, process, and organization *Positive, flexible person with the ability to work in a changing environment, identify and manage priorities. *Skills* Product management, Agile, Digital, M365, jira *Top Skills Details* Product management,Agile,Digital,M365,jira *Additional Skills & Qualifications* Advisor Email & M365 Modernization Initiative - Clean Summary Context & Objective Client must migrate the remaining population from the legacy M365 environment to the modern Microsoft 365 / Exchange Online platform. * Only ~30% of advisors have been migrated since 2022 due to technical blockers. * The goal is to complete the remaining migrations between May and September. * This includes upgrading the advisor email experience, enabling multi-factor authentication, and providing access to modern M365 tools (Teams, Windows 11, Copilot eligibility, etc.). Project Scope 1. Email & Identity Modernization * Migrate advisors and staff to Exchange Online. * Implement multi-factor authentication. * Provide access to core Microsoft tools (Word, PowerPoint, Teams). * Prepare advisors for Copilot eligibility. 2. Product & Program Workstreams * Product Management * Microsoft ecosystem expertise (M365, MS Dynamics, CRM) * Wealth Management context (not required but helpful) * Advisor communications & change management * Jira backlog creation and management * Cross-functional technical meetings * Pre and postmigration device work (in partnership with Perficient) 3. Architecture & Future State * Two-company environment requiring premigration analysis and selection criteria. * Middle-layer architecture reengineering for long-term scalability. * Potential future need for service/support roles (MS-certified, advisor-facing). Role Being Filled A temporary, high-caliber Product/Project Manager stepping in for a *team member on leave.* * 70% Product Management / 30% Project Management * Must thrive in a high-pressure, highly visible environment with SVP and executive oversight (up to Greg Gates). * Expected to lead discussions, drive clarity, and maintain momentum. * Needs strong Microsoft ecosystem experience and comfort with ambiguity. * Should be assertive, confident, and willing to speak up - "not afraid to say the wrong thing." *Experience Level* Expert Level w2 only hybrid onsite 3 days a week *Job Type & Location*This is a Contract position based out of Charlotte, NC. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $70.00/hr.
