The impact you'll make

As a leader within Lam's Global Supplier Management organization, this critical position requires a passionate and driven leader who will architect and deliver strategic direction for managing the OEM, Computers, and Controllers commodities within Lam's supply chain. As a Director within Supply Chain, this executive will play a crucial and influential role in Lam's overall success.This individual will collaborate closely with the executive management team, Supply Chain executives, and Product Group executives. The position is based in Livermore, CA, and includes worldwide travel.

What you'll do
  • Architect and deliver a comprehensive end-to-end strategy that supports Lam's three-year horizon:
    • Supplier selection (expansion & consolidation) that meets business needs.
    • Drive & focus supplier investments (R&D & capacity expansion) aligned with Lam's needs.
    • Responsible for commercial negotiations that result in achieving annual objectives for cost, quality, lead time, and flexibility.
  • Develop a three-year vision, strategy and organizational structure for assigned commodities. The strategy should enhance competitive differentiation and address commodity availability, quality and cost.
  • Operations responsibilities include meeting operational metrics for commodity.
  • Anticipate, identify and evaluate current and future issues, and promote new ideas to provide strategy and direction across areas of influence.
  • Leadership responsibilities include:
    • Execute the vision and implement the strategy by gaining executive alignment and motivating and engaging the workforce to fulfill the vision.
    • Lead sourcing negotiations.
    • Drive business processes that enable effective prioritization and facilitate faster customer solutions.
    • Provide inspired leadership and direction to the global supply chain organization.
    • Continue building and developing a world-class team in an environment where successful people want to work.
    • Lead a geographically dispersed team, including some matrix employees.
    • Instill a culture of quality and discipline across our suppliers.
What you'll do (continued)

Operate in a complex environment:

Build and maintain a strong employee organization through strategic hiring, development, and performance management.
Develop and execute the optimal geographic distribution of the organization to achieve desired results most effectively.
Manage supplier relationships to deliver negotiated value.
Develop strong, collaborative, and effective relationships with internal product groups, including navigating situations where supply chain and product group goals may conflict.
Make decisions under pressure, sometimes with incomplete information and tight deadlines.
Navigate Lam and supplier constraints, such as source locking and supplier transitions.
Successfully operate across organizational boundaries and prioritize activities to achieve best-in-class results.
Develop and deliver meaningful, impactful messages to a wide range of audiences, including C-level executives, peer VPs, Global Supply Chain teams, suppliers, and customers.

Who we're looking for
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Operations or Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 15 years of professional experience, preferably including at least 3 years in executive management roles.
  • Experience in an executive leadership role within a global, matrix-managed, multi-site company with manufacturing and supplier operations across multiple continents and at least $1 billion in revenue.
  • Extensive experience interfacing with customers and suppliers, managing these relationships through product issue identification, problem resolution, and overall customer experience.
  • Demonstrated business orientation and proactive leadership, identifying and anticipating problems, issues, and risks to project outcomes and managing them in advance of critical situations.
  • Demonstrated success using rigorous logic and structured methods to solve complex problems with effective solutions.
  • Proven track record of leading a large organization to new levels of performance.
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing teams, with a demonstrated ability to engage and retain staff.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills across multiple cultures in North America, Europe, and Asia.
  • Ability to lead and influence technically strong employees.
  • Belief in, practice of, and reinforcement of core values: achievement; honesty and integrity; innovation and continuous improvement; mutual trust and respect; open communication; ownership and accountability; teamwork; and a "think customer, company, individual" mindset.
  • Executive-level presentation skills for both internal and external audiences.
  • Operational background required.
Preferred qualifications

MBA or equivalent post graduate qualification desirable

Certification in Lean Six Sigma Master blackbelt preferred

Experience in Semi-Conductor or High-Tech Industry preferred

Managing or running remote factories is a plus

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories - On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. 'On-site Flex' you'll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. 'Virtual Flex' you'll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.

Salary

CA San Francisco Bay Area Salary Range for this position: $155,000.00 -$324,000.00.

The above salary range for this position is relevant to applicants that reside or work onsite in the California, San Francisco Bay Area only. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Actual salary may vary from salary offered due to numerous factors including but not limited to unpaid time off, unpaid leave, company mandated shutdown, and other relevant factors.
