DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Corrections Library Assistant, you will supervise all operations of an institutional library in the absence of the Librarian, creating and maintaining a clean and safe environment that promotes reading and learning for inmates. You will be overseeing inmate work crews and completing inmate attendance and progress reports, answering questions from the inmate population and institutional staff pertaining to library resources and programs, and completing daily callouts for inmates. Work includes replying to inmate correspondence and processing the library mail. Our team will also rely on you to assist the Librarian in training, scheduling, hiring, and terminating inmate library personnel. - Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of clerical experience; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
