What to Expect
The Equipment Engineer will gain broad-based industrial maintenance experience, encompassingMechanical, LaserWelding, Ultrasonic Welding, Machining, Hydraulics/Pneumatics,Dispensing systems,Adhesive systems,Conveyor systems, Electrical/PLC,Vision Systems, Roboticsetc. Must be willing to tackle whatever technical challenge presentsitself andbe willing toassistand learn from others in their areas of expertise.
What You'll Do
- Day to day coverage of production line equipment: respond to alarms, breakdowns, and Production requests quickly and efficiently to minimize downtime
- Diagnoses equipment failures, finds root cause and communicates and implements actions taken to the rest of the team
- Evaluate these failures and provide technical solutions to improve quality and / or OEE in the specified areaand perform major equipment repairs and rebuilds, (some weekends, holidays or night shiftrequired)
- Takes initiative to create, implement and improve PM documents and schedules, under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor
- Participate in spare part analysis and inventory development, cost reduction and improvement working with Spares Coordinator and Maintenance Engineering to RMA faulty components and communicate needs to the vendor
- Work withMaintenance, ControlsandProcessengineering and other cross functional groups to resolve maintenance issues, improve equipment reliability, reviewproceduresand minimize equipment downtime
- Investigate and implement countermeasures to prevent repetitive breakdowns, updating MFMEA according to new failure modes
- Active leader of a TPM team while taking on improvement projects toassistin improving the factory
- Develop Predictive Maintenance Strategies, tomonitorequipment signalsand detect anomalies before they affect or cause unplanned downtime
- Design and Implement Equipment Reliability Improvement Projects, Capacity increaseprojectsand Headcount reduction projects
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's Degree inMechatronics,MechanicalEngineeringor equivalent experience
- Ability to manage workload while contributing to a positive,team-orientedwork environment
- Troubleshooting andproblem-solvingmethodologieswith the use of a variety of hand and portable tools, as well as general machining and welding
- Skilled with common workplace software (MS Word, Excel, Visio, Project, PowerPoint etc.)
- Skilled with common engineering software (AutoCAD, CATIA, SolidWorks,Robo-guide, E-Plan, 3DPrinting software,etc.)
- Able to read and interpret basic mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
- Willingto perform shift work (nights) andextra hoursasrequired
