Position Summary

Position Summary:

This role provides compliance-related leadership and guidance on the design, manufacture, and sustainment of product management systems aligned with United States Government/Federal Aviation Administration's regulations, industry standards and specifications, and customer contract requirements.

Scope/Supervision and Interaction:

  • Reports to the Director of US Government Compliance.
  • Acts as the corporation's leader for operational and technical (e.g., quality, engineering, manufacturing operations) US Government compliance and the application of FAA regulations.
  • Develops and deploys policy regarding engineering, quality assurance, manufacturing operations and other areas of the business to assure establishment of compliant product management systems and practices.
  • Interacts routinely with Corporate, Group and Division management. Additionally, interacts with regulatory agencies and customers. Participates on councils and committees in support of USG, FAA and industry activities and benchmarking.
  • Perform on-site and remote reviews and analysis of division and site compliance.
  • Works closely with Groups and Divisions to create and deliver relevant training.
  • Serves as the primary facilitator for issues relating to USG, FAA and customer product quality and conformity initiatives. Shares specialized knowledge with others and serves as a subject matter expert on technical customer contract and product related matters.
  • Conducts and leads investigations into product related allegations and concerns. Works with internal/external legal counsel and regulatory authorities to provide guidance and support regarding product related matters.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in an engineering discipline (e.g., Aerospace, Electrical/Electronic Mechanical, or similar discipline). Advanced degree preferred.
  • 10 years (minimum) experience providing guidance, direction, and consultation services at all levels of management in a Prime and/or Tier 1 contractor engaged in major USG-DoD contracting and FAA-Civil/General Aviation programs.
  • Working knowledge of the application of Federal Acquisition Regulations, Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement, Federal Aviation Administration regulations.
  • Familiarity and working knowledge in the application of ISO 9001, AS9100, IATF 16949 and similar Business/Quality Management systems and their application in the design and manufacture of products designated for use on military platforms and civil/general aviation programs.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Ability to obtain National Industrial Security Program (32 CFR Part 117) Clearance "Secret" designation or above.
