IT Intern - Desktop Support & Internal Systems Position Summary

The IT Intern supports the organization's technology environment by assisting with desktop maintenance and internal systems support. This role provides hands-on experience in end-user support, hardware and software troubleshooting, and IT service operations while working closely with the IT team and service desk.

Reporting Relationship

Reports Directly to the IT Support Specialist

Key Responsibilities

Monitor and triage service desk calls and ticket queues, provide hands-on end-user support by setting up, imaging, and configuring systems. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and peripheral issues in accordance with established procedures. Document and maintain support processes, collaborate with the global IT Helpdesk to investigate issues and implement solutions. Maintain accurate inventory records for hardware assets and software licenses. Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates will have working knowledge of Microsoft Windows 11 and the Microsoft O365 Suite, hands-on experience imaging and configuring laptops and desktops (including operating systems and applications), and demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve common hardware, software, and peripheral issues such as printer installation and connectivity. Experience supporting Active Directory (user account administration and password resets) and familiarity with iOS device management are also preferred.
