STGi is currently seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor/Handyman to provide services at our Community Based Outpatient Clinic.



JOB SUMMARY: To support the Community Based Outpatient Clinic by operating the housekeeping function in an efficient manner to safely meet staff and patient needs in compliance with federal, state and local requirements.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The Housekeeping Supervisor oversees the full operation of the housekeeping function, ensuring clean, safe, and well-maintained facilities. Key responsibilities include:
* Manage and directly supervise housekeeping staff.
* Follow and communicate all oral and written instructions while upholding policies, infection-control procedures, and safety standards.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), departmental records, and documentation required for effective operations.
* Develop, implement, and oversee cleaning schedules; ensure housekeeping staffing and daily assignments are completed efficiently and on time.
* Interview, onboard and ensure all new staff are fully oriented and trained within established timelines.
* Supervise cleaning practices, waste-disposal procedures, and proper care, handling, and cost-effective distribution of housekeeping equipment and supplies.
* Monitor facility conditions, identify areas needing repair, report findings to administration, and coordinate or schedule corrective actions.
* Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, punctuality, teamwork, and a cooperative attitude while ensuring all duties are completed effectively and in a timely manner.
* Perform additional related tasks as directed by leadership to support smooth departmental and facility operations.



The Housekeeping Supervisor/ Handyman is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment throughout the medical facility. Key responsibilities include:
* General Cleaning & Sanitizing: Perform routine dusting, wiping, disinfecting, and spot-cleaning of surfaces, walls, doors, light switches, furniture, and high-touch areas across all assigned spaces.
* Floor Care: Sweep, dust mop, damp mop, and vacuum carpeted and hard-surface floors; address spills promptly and conduct periodic deep cleaning of carpets and floor edges.
* Restroom Maintenance: Clean and disinfect fixtures, partitions, counters, sinks, and mirrors; restock restroom supplies; empty trash daily.
* Patient Care & Clinical Areas: Clean exam rooms, sinks, exam tables, and other clinical surfaces according to facility standards; ensure areas remain sanitary and orderly.
* Trash Removal: Empty, replace liners, and properly dispose of waste (non-biohazard), ensuring all areas remain free from debris.
* Breakrooms & Common Areas: Clean tables, chairs, countertops, appliances (e.g., microwaves, refrigerators as requested) and maintain overall tidiness.
* Furniture & Equipment Care: Vacuum or brush upholstered furniture, arrange furniture neatly, and maintain walk-off mats.
* Vent and High/Low Dusting: Perform scheduled dusting and cleaning of vents, corners, edges, and other areas outside normal reach on a regular cycle.
* Facility Closing & Upkeep: Maintain janitor closets, gather supplies for shifts, reset spaces for the next day, turn off lights, and lock or secure areas per facility procedures.



The Housekeeping Supervisors/Handyman is also responsible for the following building maintenance responsibilities:
* Preventative Maintenance: Create a maintenance schedule to identify and correct any issues arising from daily use of facilities or from normal wear and tear.
* Repairs and Handyman Tasks: Perform or coordinate minor electrical, plumbing, drywall repairs, touch-up painting, base cover re-attaching, replacing stained ceiling tiles, small flooring repairs. Replacing of batteries on door keypads and automatic plumbing fixtures.
* Routine Inspections: HVAC filters, emergency lighting, squeaky doors, loose toilet seats, mal-functioning door locksets, roof inspections to identify possible leaks.
* Vendor Support: Assist specialized contractors when major repairs are needed.

Required Skills

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
* One year experience in a supervisor/managerial position.
* Housekeeping experience preferred.
* Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language proficiently.
* Must be able to legally work in the United States.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
* High School diploma or GED required.

The physical demands and work environment described herein is a representative of those that generally must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:
* This position primarily involves standing, walking, twisting, reaching, bending/stooping, pushing and pulling (typical weight of 5 lbs. and maximum weight of 50 lbs., approximately), and lifting (minimum weight of 5 lbs. and maximum weight of 50 lbs., approximately).
* Must be able to climb ladders and remain on your feet for extended periods of time.
* The position requires repetitive finger movements as well as hearing and talking on the phone and in person.
* Must be able to continuously deal effectively with stress, multiple tasks, noises, interruptions, and work cooperatively as part of the health care team while maintaining a pleasant attitude.
* Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset and, at times, difficult people within the facility.
* May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of patients during emergency situations.
* Work is typically performed in an environmentally controlled environment.
* Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.

Pay rate: Starting at $21/hr
