Internship Program Coordinator

Responsible for managing and assisting with the implementation of new projects and initiatives within Mass General Brigham's Youth Programs. Assists program leaders and stakeholders in all facets of project work, from discovery to implementation. Works on multiple team projects simultaneously and may serve as project manager for a small project or a portion of a larger project. Focuses on project management details, including identifying gaps and follow-up actions that maximize project outcomes. In Youth Programs, this includes coordinating key components of the academic year Internship Program and Summer Jobs Program-such as recruitment, onboarding, student support, internship placements, supervisor communication, and data tracking.
Academic Medical Centers Internships and Summer Jobs Program
*Support all phases of the Academic year Internship Program and Summer Jobs recruitment cycle, including outreach to schools/community partners, alumni communication, application review, and interview coordination.
*Assist with onboarding by preparing materials, communicating expectations, conducting orientations, and ensuring timely submission of all required documentation.
*Provide ongoing advising and support through regular check-ins, goal-setting, and connecting students to resources that promote success in internship placements.
*Coordinate internship placement logistics by reviewing student interests/strengths, collaborating with supervisors, and ensuring all placements align with program guidelines.
*Serve as the primary point of contact for internship supervisors, maintaining communication, addressing issues, and offering guidance for a positive student and department experience.
*Assist with designing and facilitating workshops and professional development sessions that focus on career exploration, workplace readiness, and reflective learning.
*Track attendance, progress, and participation in internal systems to support accurate data collection and reporting.
*Participate in evening and weekend events and activities as needed
*Perform other duties as assigned to support the success of MGB Youth Programs

  • Bachelor's degree in education, social work, public health, or a related field required.

  • Equivalent work experience may be considered in place of formal education.

  • 2-3 years of experience in youth development, education, community engagement, or resource navigation required.

  • Experience working with diverse populations and historically underrepresented communities strongly preferred.

  • Knowledge of Boston-area schools, community resources, and youth-serving organizations preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to prioritize, delegate, and manage multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously.
- Basic financial/accounting skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
