About the Role

We are looking for a Process Engineer to join our commercial support team within the Gore Component Technologies group. In this role, you will play a key part in shaping how innovative materials and products are manufactured-working handson with processes, equipment, and crossfunctional partners to deliver reliable, highquality outcomes. This is an opportunity to make a visible impact by improving manufacturing processes, expanding technical capabilities, and supporting the introduction and scaleup of new products and technologies. You'll work in a collaborative, problemsolving environment that values learning, datadriven decisionmaking, and continuous improvement, while gaining exposure to equipment installation, validation, and upgrades across production and testing operations.

This role will be located at our facility in Flagstaff, Arizona.

Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day process and equipment engineering support for existing products, including transition of new products and processes into manufacturing
  • Lead process characterization and capability improvement using Lean Six Sigma methods (e.g., DMAIC/PDCA), focusing on quality, safety, cost, and delivery
  • Identify and eliminate waste and variation through data-driven analysis, standard work, and error-proofing to improve yield, throughput, and cycle time
  • Define and control critical process parameters; implement Statistical Process Control (SPC) and visual management to sustain stable, capable processes
  • Plan and execute designed experiments (DOE) and statistically sound studies to optimize processes, troubleshoot issues, and support scale-up/validation
  • Drive root cause problem solving for nonconformances using structured techniques (e.g., 5-Why, fishbone) and implement effective corrective and preventive actions
  • Support specification development, process documentation, and validation activities for equipment/process changes to ensure robust and compliant manufacturing
  • Partner cross-functionally (operations, quality, R&D, supply chain) to deliver process improvement and capital/project work, influencing stakeholders and coaching problem-solving best practices
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical field with a minimum of 3 years of handson manufacturing or process engineering experience (internal candidates may demonstrate equivalent Gore experience)
  • Demonstrated experience providing daytoday manufacturing process and equipment support, including troubleshooting, optimization, and transition of new products or processes into production
  • Experience applying structured problemsolving methodologies (such as DMAIC, PDCA, 8D, or similar) to identify root cause, assess risk, and implement effective corrective and preventative actions
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across functions and with internal or external partners
  • Ability to apply engineering fundamentals and statistical tools (e.g., Design of Experiments, Statistical Process Control) to process development, validation, and continuous improvement activities
  • Ability to support the design and development of new equipment, and actively drive or assist with installation and validation in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple technical projects concurrently, prioritizing work to deliver results against agreed timelines and commitments
  • Ability to document, communicate, and present technical work clearly to diverse audiences, including manufacturing, quality, and leadership stakeholders
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
Desired Qualifications
  • Lean 6 Sigma Green belt certificate or higher
  • Experience in a Regulated Industry
  • Experience with quality systems, documentation, and methodologies (for example, GMP, ISO 9001, APQP, House of Quality, etc.)
