Job Description Driver License Credentialing Specialist This client has an immediate need for motivated and detail-oriented individuals to serve as Driver License Credentialing Specialists. These roles support the rollout of a new digitized driver license issuance system statewide and help meet increased public demand for licensing services. Credentialing Specialists may be assigned to fixed or mobile service units and could be required to travel to various issuance locations throughout the state. Locations may include community centers, libraries, manufacturing facilities, correctional institutions, and other areas in need of driver license services. Overnight travel may be required based on operational needs. Candidates will not be required to use their personal vehicles. Other duties may be assigned as necessary. This role offers potential opportunities for advancement within the agency based on performance and business needs. Position Overview The primary focus of this position is to learn and apply state and federal driver license issuance requirements, including but not limited to REAL ID compliance, Commercial Driver Licensing (CDL) standards, and National Driver Register regulations. Credentialing Specialists will review, verify, and analyze secure documentation and personal information submitted by driver license applicants. Successful candidates must be able to pass a federal fingerprint-based background check and conduct themselves professionally when interacting with both coworkers and members of the public. Disciplinary action may be taken for policy violations. Candidates must maintain an active and acceptable driving record, which will be reviewed periodically (typically twice per year) for compliance. Physical Requirements * Ability to stand for up to 8 hours per day * Ability to sit at a workstation or cubicle for up to 8 hours per day Primary Responsibilities and Required Skills * Provide excellent customer service through in-person and phone interactions * Communicate clearly, professionally, and effectively * Work independently while managing tasks with strong organizational skills * Collaborate effectively in a team environment and assist coworkers as needed * Process complex driver license applications, including those for non-U.S. citizens, by reviewing original documentation * Maintain a high level of personal accountability, integrity, and attention to detail * Demonstrate professionalism, flexibility, diplomacy, and responsibility * Inspire confidence and cooperation through a positive and enthusiastic approach * Learn and utilize state driver licensing systems and digital issuance platforms * Accurately read, interpret, and enter data from driver history records * Develop strong knowledge of state driver licensing laws, policies, and procedures * Learn and apply Commercial Driver License laws and licensing processes * Advise applicants regarding driver licensing questions, requirements, and concerns * Work overtime as needed, including evenings (up to approximately 5 hours per week) * Work some Saturdays may be required Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Morehead, KY.
