Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine is a national leader in integrating community-based medical education and clinical care. We are dedicated to training socially accountable physicians, scientists, and health professionals committed to serving the community. The College of Medicine is also an academic and clinical affiliate of Baptist Health and Nicklaus Children's Hospital.

The Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine at Florida International University is currently seeking an Assistant/Associate Professor faculty position, for a full-time, non-tenure appointment as a Hospitalist within the Department of Internal Medicine. This faculty position will be responsible for over-seeing the care of all assigned patients at Jackson Memorial Hospital. The qualified candidate must be properly credentialed and obtain privileges at Jackson Memorial Hospital and continuously meet the requirements as set forth by the College of Medicine, the Jackson Health System and any other requirements for this position. Responsibilities will include assuring that all assigned patients are receiving high-quality, evidenced-based medical care. The Hospitalist will also participate in teaching programs involving the FIU faculty as appropriate.



Minimum Qualifications

Minimum qualifications include a terminal degree as a Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO). Candidates must be Board Certified in Internal Medicine, or Board Eligible with certification obtained within one year of hire. A valid and unrestricted Florida Medical License is required, or the candidate must be able to obtain licensure in the State of Florida prior to employment. Must be able to obtain privileges at Jackson Memorial Hospital.



Desired Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include one year of experience teaching in undergraduate / graduate medical education.
