Job Summary

Perform the day-to-day functions of the library and assist librarians in the acquisition, preparation, and organization of information. Assist library patrons in accessing information. Primary duties will be to act as the ILL Lender for Henderson Library, providing returnable items and scans to other libraries around the globe. Secondary duties will be to cover shifts at the Welcome Desk and assist the Access Services Department as needed. Work schedule will be based on the needs of the ILL Librarian and Access Services.

Responsibilities
  • Provide assistance to visitors by working shifts on the Welcome Desk as needed
  • Provide backup and support when needed by the ILL Borrower
  • Process all RAPID lending requests for scans requested by member libraries in that group
  • Process all OCLC Lending requests for books and scans requested by other libraries
  • Provide assistance to the ILL Librarian by participating in departmental projects
  • Deliver efficient delivery of services to patrons
  • Coordinate with the ILL Librarian to develop standards, workflows, and procedures related to Interlibrary Loan
  • In coordination with the ILL Librarian and the Head of Access Services, set expectations and standards for exemplary customer service
  • Support library programming, events, and outreach and coordinate department involvement and participation; participate in library committees, attend workshops, webinars, and other learning opportunities
  • Projects as assigned by the ILL Librarian, the Head of Access Services, or Dean of the Libraries


Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Required Experience
  • Three (3) or more years of related work experience


Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to use ILLiad management software to process and request ILL items

Preferred Experience
  • Experience working in a library, preferably with ILLiad and/or Rapid
  • Ability to use ILLiad management software to process and request ILL items


Proposed Salary

$17.55 per hour

This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
