Job Summary The Senior Benefits Analyst oversees the administration and analysis of all employee benefit programs, including health and welfare, retirement, and wellness, while ensuring compliance with ERISA, HIPAA, FMLA, COBRA, ACA, IRS, DOL, and all relevant regulations. As the primary contact for employees and HR Partners nationwide, the role provides expert guidance on eligibility, coverage, and complex benefit issues and serves as a key liaison between employees, Payroll, HRIS, and third party vendors to maintain data integrity and regulatory compliance. The position requires strong analytical capabilities, advanced Excel proficiency, and precise interpretation of benefits data to support daily administration, issue resolution, and exceptional client service. The incumbent also serves as backup to the Sr. Manager, Benefits. Essential Functions
- Serve as the primary contact for HR Partners and employees on benefit-related matters, resolving escalations, inquiries, and requests through analysis and research while ensuring compliance with HIPAA, PHI, DOL, ERISA, and IRS regulations. Monitor the benefits inbox and work with vendors to resolve issues promptly.
- Collaborate with Payroll, HRIS, HR Partners, and vendors to troubleshoot benefits issues, ensure data integrity across systems, resolve discrepancies, and audit program participation for eligibility and compliance.
- Process and reconcile employee HSA and 401(k) contributions, ensuring accurate payroll deductions, timely remittance to vendors, and resolution of any discrepancies.
- Lead ongoing audits and data integrity initiatives between HRIS, payroll systems, and benefits platforms, including eligibility verification and utilization analysis to ensure adherence to plan rules and regulatory standards.Conduct advanced data integrity and root-cause analysis in partnership with third-party administrators, ensuring accurate employee eligibility, enrollment, and vendor data exchange; escalate systemic issues with recommended solutions after discussions with HRIS, Payroll or People Ops teams.
- Support Benefits initiatives with HR Partners and Employee Network Groups to promote Health & Well-Being programs, including flu shot clinics, health expos, and educational events, to raise employee awareness and understanding of benefit offerings. Conduct periodic trend analyses and provide actionable recommendations for Health & Well-Being initiatives.
- Support the Benefits Manager by creating, analyzing, and compiling reports to identify and resolve system or process issues. Document, review and maintain SOPs proven and accurate processes for key tasks.
- Lead the monthly billing reconciliation process including, extracting and analyzing reports, managing data validation, discrepancy resolution, and payment submissions while ensuring accuracy and audit-readiness across all benefit plans.
- Prepares accurate monthly employeelevel premium chargeback reports and conducts related financial analyses, including benefit invoice reconciliations, claims utilization summaries, and stoploss reporting. Ensures timely, compliant submission of all required claims and stoploss data to thirdparty vendors while maintaining strict dataintegrity standards.
- Manage ACA compliance and reporting, including data analysis, tracking, employee and HR Partner communications, and coordination of enrollment and premium deductions with payroll partners.
- Support major compliance activities, including annual NonDiscrimination Testing, 401(k) Plan audits, and other ERISA-mandated reviews, ensuring accurate documentation, reporting, and regulatory adherence.
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS Degree (4-year) Business or related area
- 4-6 years Data driven work experience
- Prior Human Resources or customer service experience
- Experience working within a multi-state employer
- Benefits Analytics with self-insured and fully insured plans
- In-depth knowledge of relevant benefit laws and regulations, including HIPAA, ERISA, PHI, COBRA, ACA, and related federal and state requirements.
- Advanced Excel proficiency, including the ability to extract and analyze large datasets, create and manipulate pivot tables, perform complex data comparisons, identify discrepancies, and translate findings into clear, actionable insights.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to research, interpret, and resolve routine and moderately complex issues independently
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain benefits information and effectively engage and collaborate with employees and HR Partners at all levels.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to quickly identify discrepancies, inconsistencies, and potential issues, and proactively address them to ensure accurate and timely resolution.

- Experience with 401(k) plans, including non-discrimination testing, plan audits, and general understanding of plan operations and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively, while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced and changing environment.
- Ability to handle confidential and highly sensitive personal information while ensuring strict compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Familiarity with UKG Pro (UltiPro) a plus
Pay Scale:$90,000 - $110,000 Bonus:This position is eligible for a bonus under the current bonus plan requirements.
