Diagnostic Technician II - Serology

Perform tests on various analytes such as serum, whole blood, plasma, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), and milk using agar gen immunodiffusion (AGID), ELISA, indirect fluorescent antibody (IFA), agglutination, radial immunodiffusion (RID), and SNAP, to detect antibodies and enter results into LIMS and other database systems in the lab. Setup, adjust, maintain, and clean laboratory equipment and maintain the quality system through document reviews as well as corrective action responses and ensuring the quality of the test results. The person in this position would also be assisting with training the undergraduate student help in the lab.

This position is On-site.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) and four years of relevant experience. Requirements may be met through a combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelors of Science
• Bachelor of Science with emphasis in microbiology, virology, and serology preferred.
• One or more years of laboratory experience. Demonstrates proficiency with fluorescence microscopy methods and biosafety training and practices.
• Serology lab experience
• At least two years of laboratory experience
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
